Chapter 12: The wisdom of the sages!
"What? Crash into it? Really?"
Harry sounded incredulous upon hearing such a seemingly absurd suggestion, clearly hesitating.
Devero, on the other hand, was brimming with confidence.
"Harry, trust me. We're classmates—why would I lie to you or take advantage of you? Just focus and run straight into it!"
Hearing this, Harry seemed to lower his guard a little.
After all, an 11-year-old blond boy carrying a toad on his shoulder didn't look like someone who would be out to trick him… probably.
Taking a deep breath, Harry followed Devero's instructions and charged straight at the stone pillar!
THUD!
To everyone's surprise, Harry collided directly with the column and went sprawling onto the ground.
Devero was dumbfounded.
"What? No way. Dobby shouldn't have cast any spells here this year…"
At that moment, a loud and bustling family of red-haired individuals walked past them.
"Mom, I need to go sit in the Prefect's compartment, so—"
A tall red-headed boy was speaking.
"Oh, Percy, you're a Prefect? Really? How could we possibly have missed that!"
The twins teased him with mock surprise.
"Mom, can I please go on the train too?"
A little red-haired girl clung to her mother's hand, pleading.
"No, Ginny, you're still too young," the woman said firmly, shaking her head.
It was then that Devero realized—
Oh.
He had miscounted the columns.
Rushing forward, he helped Harry, who was glaring at him in frustration, get to his feet.
"Uh… sorry, Potter. I think I counted the wrong pillar. It should be that one over there."
He quickly began picking up Harry's scattered luggage.
Although Devero felt a little guilty, he also didn't regret letting Harry test the pillar first. After all, unlike the other kids who had trolleys, he wasn't carrying any luggage himself. If he had been the one to crash into the wrong pillar, his face would've taken the brunt of the impact—something he definitely wanted to avoid.
After gathering up Harry's things, Devero led the skeptical boy to the correct stone pillar.
By now, it was clear that Harry was beginning to lose trust in Devero.
"Don't worry, this time it's definitely the right one," Devero said in an attempt to reassure him. "Look, those kids from that family are going in this direction."
As they were speaking, the red-headed children ran one after another toward the stone wall, disappearing through the pillar as if it weren't solid at all.
Watching this, Harry finally relaxed a little.
"Oh, dears, are you waiting for us? You can go in now."
The slightly plump, warm-looking woman at the back of the group turned to face them after the youngest, freckle-faced boy had gone through the wall. She smiled kindly at them and stepped aside, gesturing for them to enter.
Devero smiled politely and said, "Thank you, ma'am. It's our first time going to Hogwarts, so we didn't know the way. Haha, I almost ran into the wrong pillar earlier."
"Almost? I did run into it!" Harry interjected indignantly, still looking a bit annoyed.
With Mrs. Weasley's encouragement, Harry took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and dashed toward the stone pillar again.
This time, he successfully passed through and entered Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
Devero, after thanking Mrs. Weasley again, followed Harry through the pillar.
Mrs. Weasley watched Devero's retreating figure disappear into the wall before suddenly realizing something.
"Wait a moment… that boy didn't have any luggage, did he?"
She murmured to herself, frowning slightly.
"Wow, so this is the wizarding platform?"
Devero felt as if he had passed through a shimmering veil of water—but without getting wet—and stepped into a completely different world.
Here, many people were dressed in traditional wizarding robes, giving Devero a sense of déjà vu, as though he were back in Diagon Alley.
Of course, the majority of people were still wearing Muggle clothes, as most parents dropping off their children were required to pass through the Muggle station first.
According to wizarding laws aimed at protecting Muggles, they had to dress inconspicuously to blend in with Muggle society.
Devero looked around, hoping to spot Harry while also discreetly loading traits from the surrounding people.
Ding!
[Wizarding Domain Detected: Exploration Function Activated!]
[Current Domain: London Wizarding Platform!]
[Exploration Progress: 1.1%]
Devero froze in shock.
The platform itself counted as a wizarding domain?
Then again, it made sense. This platform had likely been in use for at least two centuries, ever since the Industrial Revolution began, serving as the hub for transporting Hogwarts students.
The thought excited Devero immensely.
This platform was completely different from Diagon Alley! It was small, and there was no equivalent to Knockturn Alley dragging down his exploration progress.
In other words, he might be able to max out the platform's exploration progress today!
Scanning his surroundings, he saw that the platform was bustling with activity. Parents were busy helping their children organize their belongings, while students chatted excitedly about the upcoming school year.
There were students with owls, cats, and even a few carrying toads like Devero himself—one of them was probably Neville, who was sure to have some good traits on him.
But Devero wasn't concerned about that for now. There would be plenty of time to load traits once they got to Hogwarts.
In the distance, a large red steam engine was puffing out white smoke, waiting to take its passengers aboard.
Since Devero had no luggage to slow him down, he immediately started sprinting around the platform.
From one end to the other, his focus remained entirely on his system panel, watching the exploration progress bar climb.
Step by step, the numbers shot up rapidly:

[Wisdom of the Ancients Unlocked!]
BOOM!
Standing at the edge of the platform, Devero suddenly shuddered.
A vast amount of knowledge surged into his mind, intertwining and merging within his thoughts.
The sheer amount of information was overwhelming—so much so that even Devero, as a magical prodigy, struggled to process it all.
For an ordinary 11-year-old wizard, such an influx of knowledge might have been enough to cause their brain to shut down entirely!
Clutching his head, Devero took a moment to digest the new information.
Finally, he straightened up and opened his system panel to check.
A new entry had appeared:
