"Why can't you process it? You process resignation letters all the time." Cheng Xiao asked.

"Yes, that's true but your case is different." He replied trying to make her understand.

"Why do you even want to quit?" He asked curiously.

"With all due respect, I don't have to tell you. Will you process?" She asked handing him the letter once more.

"Ms. Cheng, please understand that I can't process it." He tried to persuade her.

"Why not?" She asked once more.

"I don't want to lose my job, please I really can't process it." He spoke.

"If it was someone else you would not have questioned them as to why they want to quit. Didn't all his other secretaries quit and there were no issues?" She asked.

"Yes, there were no issues, but you have been with him the longest and only him can process it for you." He spoke.

"Ms. Cheng you have been with him for seven years. Why don't you rethink of this after all?" Liu Fuyi asked. 

"No need." She said and walked out of the office.

She walked out and went in the direction of her office.

"How did it go?" Shen Mu asked when he saw her.

"He refused to process it." She replied showing her the letter that was still in her hands.

"So, what now?" Shen Mu asked.

"I am going in to hand it to him." Cheng Xiao replied and walked to Xu Kai's office.

She knocked three times and entered.

"Cheng Xiao my schedule?" Xu Kai asked without taking his eyes off the laptop.

"Sir can I talk to you?" Cheng Xiao asked avoiding his question.

"What is it that you want to say?" He asked her still not taking his eyes off the laptop.

"Sir I want to quit!" She said cutting to the chase.

"You what?" He asked taking his eyes off.

"I want to resign, please sign it." She said, handing him her resignation letter.

"What is this?" He asked.

"My resignation letter." She responded.

"Why are you giving me this?" He asked looking directly into her eyes.

"I went to HR, but they refused to process it." She spoke.

"As they should, whoever had processed it would have been their last day in this office." She said taking her resignation letter.

He opened it and started to read it, Cheng Xiao thought that he was going to sign it. As he held the letter, he felt that everyone had panicked for no reason. It was until he teared the letter in piece shocking her on the spot.

"Sir..." She was in shock.

"Did you really think that you can just quit?" He asked her, throwing the pieces into the bin.

"It doesn't matter I'm leaving anyway." She spoke.

"And why do you want to leave?" He asked her his face turning cold.

"I want to design, when I first applied, I had applied for designing but I ended up being hired as your secretary." She spoke looking at him.

"As you can see there is no letter so get back to work. I don't have time to play games." He said motioning to the dust bin.

"I can't do I can hand in multiple times, but I am leaving." She said firmly.

"You are not going anywhere." 

"I want to be a designer, and this company has wasted seven years of my life." She said all her past grievance.

"I can't waste my talent like this, I was the best designer, and it has been my dream to design, so I'm sorry I can't be your secretary anymore." She added on and walked out of his office leaving him stunned.
