Chapter 19: Blood Firmament Sect
The four men flew very fast. Their figures soon left the forest and continued forward.
On the way, they passed several small villages, river branches and mist-covered hills before finally landing on a plateau spanning several kilometres.
The place where they landed was almost at the centre of the plateau. There, a huge gate, which was as high as five grown men, greeted them.
On top of the gate, there was a black wooden board on which a few words were in scarlet.
"Blood Firmament Sect"
Anyone who looked at the name for the first time would feel suppressed, as if they were looking at something that could destroy them any second.
"Open the gates!" One of the men shouted.
The gates opened up, and they entered the sect. It would be more right to call it a huge city, as the moment one entered the gates, a long dirt pathway with markets on each side welcomed them.
Crowds of people moved about in that region.
"I'll take this man to the physician first, it would be a problem if he died before that," The man carrying Zion said.
He had been suppressing Zion's injuries by using his Qi so far to keep his condition stable.
"Alright," The group leader nodded. He then turned towards the man who was holding onto Fana.
He glanced at Fana's tattered clothes and untidy appearance and said,
"When we arrive at the manor, get a few maids to clean her up and make her look presentable."
"Got it," The man nodded, and they soon rushed to the manor.
Meanwhile, Zion was brought to an old building, where an old man stood outside in leisure. The old man had a long smoking pipe to his mouth and, seeing Zion on the man's back, gestured for the man to come inside.
The man soon placed Zion on a bed and said, "Just do enough so that he won't die by tonight."
The old man glanced at Zion and said, "Ten Spirit Stones."
"Are you trying to loot me, Old Chen? Like I said, I don't want you to treat him completely. Just roughly patch him up because he might die later by my master's hand." The man explained.
"I don't care about that. When a patient comes, I treat him fully. If you can't pay that, then you're free to line up in front of other physicians' clinics, but they'll definitely demand double my price," Old Chen chuckled at the end.
"Alright, you win," gritting his teeth, the man passed ten whitish stones to the Old Chen.
He accepted them and began with his treatment.
Old Chen first opened Zion's robes and observed his wounds with a light frown.
There were quite a lot of wounds, both old and fresh. They were all amassed from his long days of struggle in the forest.
'I should have asked for more stones,' Old Chen clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
He then closed his eyes, and the next moment, a blast of green Qi blew over Zion's body. With that, his wounds were cleaned of all the infection-causing contaminants.
He took out a needle from a container, and the next moment, a string made of his green Qi was wound on its end. Once that was done, Old Chen began stitching the laceration on Zion's chest.
Once the wound was stitched, the strings disappeared and formed a layer over the stitched line to promote fast healing.
His attention then shifted to Zion's mangled right hand.
He moved his two hands over Zion's hand, and the next moment, a greenish Qi was emitted from them and poured into Zion's wounds.
Old Chen kept pouring his Qi without stopping, and Zion's mangled hand repaired at a visible rate.
"Good," Old Chen nodded to himself and similarly treated Zion's broken ribs, which were followed by all the minor wounds which were there in his body.
'Unfortunately, that's beyond my skill,' the old man thought while looking at Zion's left leg, which had a stump to it.
However, when he noticed the terrible state the stump was in, he decided to replace it with a new one he had in his inventory.
Three hours had elapsed by now. Old Chen finally got out of his operating room and informed the man, "The treatment's done."
"Finally,' The man exclaimed, and soon was on his way back to the manor with Zion on his back.
At the manor's gate, the other three were waiting.
"We were about to go and look for you if you didn't arrive in the next five minutes," One of them said.
"That Old Chen took a lot more time than I thought," The man said in annoyance.
"Now that you're here, everything's alright. Master would finish up with his martial arts training in half an hour.
I've already sent a servant to inform him about our return, so we should go to the waiting hall now." The group leader said.
The rest nodded and soon assembled in the hall.
Fana was no longer unconscious and was walking with two maids on her sides. She was bathed and clothed in new robes by them.
At first, she struggled and tried to escape, only to realise that these maids were way more powerful than a normal person.
Powerless and fearful, she did what they ordered her to do and was soon brought into the waiting hall.
Inside, she saw the four men and Zion's unconscious figure. Seeing that his wounds were no longer there, she was surprised at first and soon felt a little relieved.
A guard soon came and informed them that the master had arrived.
The group leader turned towards the maid, "Come inside with her when I call you."
The maids nodded.
The four men soon entered the main hall along with Zion's unconscious figure.
The main hall looked exquisite and grand. Several beast pelts were hung on the wall, and there were also many paintings there.
At the end of the hall, on a throne, a man in his early twenties was sitting. He had red hair that reached his shoulders and a handsome, cold face. He was adorned in a golden black robe and had two maid servants fanning him from each side.
"Greetings, Ninth Young Master," The four men and the two maids bowed their heads in greeting.
The Ninth Young Master just waved his hand in impatience and said, "I had tasked you with a simple task of hunting a two-winged tiger in pristine condition.
You weren't even able to do that? What's the point of me raising you bastards if you can't even do that?!"
He banged his fist on the small table in front of him. The table turned to smithereens the very next moment.
The group leader kneeled down and said, "I apologise for my incompetence, sir.
We had poisoned the beast and were chasing after it just like planned, but we were unable to prevent that man from attacking the beast when it was in its last moments.
We should have calculated for some unexpected events like this, but we didn't and ended up failing you. For this, we are greatly ashamed."
When the group leader finished, his other three subordinates also knelt in apology. With this, they had shifted all of their master's anger towards Zion.
