Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Destined Nemesis

The Bungee Gum attached to the trash can was severed, which directly caused Hisoka's subsequent plans to collapse. In other words, this was the reason why Hisoka considered Law's God Hand to be his Bungee Gum's natural nemesis.

At close range, Hisoka swung an uppercut from below, a powerful arc aimed at Law's chin.

Typically, Hisoka would have retracted the garbage can mid-flight to create a distraction, but with Bungee Gum nullified, this strategy was no longer viable.

Law observed Hisoka's movements carefully. He raised his hands and moved them downwards to intercept Hisoka's uppercut, while also paying attention to Hisoka's other hand.

If he is not careful and allows Hisoka to stick his Bungee Gum to any part of his body, it could be fatal. So he must be on guard against this.

When their attacks were about to make contact, Hisoka abruptly withdrew his punch and stepped back slightly, causing Law's downward push to miss its mark.

However, Law took a step forward calmly, and with his falling hands pushed towards Hisoka, who was retracting his attack.

However, the latter suddenly squatted, quickly shifting his body's center of gravity downward, and immediately swept his leg towards Law's lower body.

'Disperse God Hand, gather more Aura in the legs, resist Hisoka's leg sweep, and then quickly counterattack.'

Seeing the incoming attack, this thought flashed through Law's mind, but it was immediately dismissed in the next moment.

The speed of distributing his Aura is too slow to make this plan feasible.

So, Law jumped up to avoid Hisoka's fierce sweeping kick. As he did so, Hisoka used his arms for support, pushed off the ground to lift himself, and slammed his elbow into Law's midsection.

Bang!

The blow struck Law's abdomen, sending him hurtling through the air. His expression instinctively contorted in pain.

The attacker always had the advantage when it came to aura distribution, being a step ahead. Hisoka's reverse elbow strike carried significant force, dealing what could be called 100 points of damage. Law, with only about 70 points of defensive Aura covering his abdomen, suffered pain but no severe internal injuries.

After landing a clean hit, Hisoka immediately adjusted his stance and charged toward Law's landing point, wanting to take advantage of the situation to chase him when he landed.

But Law's training over the past few months was not in vain. He endured the pain, performed an acrobatic flip mid-air and landed firmly on his feet just as Hisoka reached him.

The instant Law touched the ground, he saw Hisoka leap into the air in order to launch an attack faster, swinging his right leg in a powerful kick aimed at his left cheek.

"Don't push your luck."

Law stared at Hisoka with a cold expression, then stretched out his left hand swiftly, and placed it across his cheek. The white light sphere in his palm emitted a faint glow.

This time, Hisoka couldn't pull back his attack. His right leg, which was wrapped in Aura, contained considerable power. Before coming into close contact with Law's right cheek, it would first touch the white light sphere.

The power of God Hand was instantly activated at this moment.

Separation!

However, because the sole of Hisoka's right leg, which served as the attack point, was wrapped in a lot of Aura, with Law's current ability, he was unable to instantly crush the Aura's defense and sever Hisoka's right foot.

Therefore, before the separation effect of God Hand occurs, the defense of Aura must be separated first, thereby forming a certain buffer time.

This not-so-short buffer time is not only a fatal flaw of the God Hand, but also gives the opponent a chance to counterattack.

When the Aura is eliminated, the attack from Nen User will be reduced to ordinary attacks of a normal person, and it will be difficult to cause damage when facing the Aura defense.

Law easily grasped Hisoka's right ankle, his eyes narrowing slightly. But when he was about to separate Hisoka's leg, his body suddenly leaned forward about half a body length towards Hisoka.

'Bungee Gum...'

Law's face changed slightly.

The instant the Aura on his right foot dissipated, Hisoka made a decisive move.

He chose to give up his right foot and shifted his attack from elsewhere to secure his victory.

After decisively giving up his right foot, he used his left hand to control Bungee Gum and stuck it on Law's chest.

After doing this, he pulled hard, and at the same time, with a little Aura in his right hand, he twisted in a gymnast-like motion and punched Law in the chest as he leaned forward.

With a dull thud, Law was sent flying once more. This time, he was unable to adjust his posture and fell heavily to the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop.

Despite being sent flying and landing heavily, Law wasn't idle during the process.

The moment he recognized the familiar pull of Bungee Gum, he swiftly severed the aura attached to his chest once again.

After landing a powerful punch that sent Law tumbling, Hisoka found himself with a prime opportunity to follow up. However, upon landing, he made no further moves.

It's because the part below his right calf was missing and he was missing a leg, so he naturally couldn't rush towards Law, who was lying on the ground at the fastest speed. However, that wasn't the critical issue.

The decisive factor was that the Bungee Gum attached to Law's chest had once again been severed, completely dismantling Hisoka's chain of attacks and undoing the advantage gained by the punch.

Law's reaction to this situation and his precision in cutting off Bungee Gum essentially determined the outcome of the fight.

"Impressive, Law."

Hisoka remarked with genuine admiration. He's standing in a peculiar stance due to his missing foot, watching as Law slowly rose from the ground.

For Hisoka, sacrificing a right foot was an acceptable trade if it led to victory. However, such a gamble needed to yield more than equivalent returns.

The punch on Law's chest could be said to have pushed Law to the edge of the cliff, forcing him to grab the edge with his hands and fall into a precarious danger.

At this time, Hisoka only needed to step on Law's hand that was holding the edge of the cliff.

However, just as Hisoka was about to metaphorically stretched out his foot, Law took advantage of the wind and flew into the air, flipped over Hisoka's head and landed behind him.

Thus, the situation reversed and it was Hisoka who was standing on the edge of the cliff now.

If the Bungee Gum stuck to Law's chest had not been cut off so quickly, Hisoka would have had another chance to deal significant damage to Law, such as... breaking his hands.

Unfortunately, there is no if.

The result of sacrificing his foot amounted to only a single punch, which put Hisoka at a complete disadvantage in the subsequent battle.

Law had taken two punches from Hisoka, while Hisoka had lost his right foot. It is hard to say whether it is a gain or a loss.

"Without your right foot, you've lost."

Law declared, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. He then raised Hisoka's severed right foot, which he held in his hand, up for display.

"As expected of the omnipotent magician hand. It's so mysterious and remarkable."

However, Hisoka still looked calm and composed. He lowered his head to look at his right leg, which was missing the sole of his right foot. There was no bleeding and he felt no pain.

What was even more miraculous was...

He looked at the right foot that Law was holding in his left hand, and his slightly narrowed eyes slowly opened, revealing a glint of amusement.

"Hmm?"

Law was slightly startled, and saw that Hisoka's right foot in his hand suddenly twitched, and the five toes were wriggling mischievously.

"…"

Law was speechless for a moment.

"Law, maybe you really are my destined nemesis."

Hisoka tilted his head slightly, his eyelids trembling slightly, as if he was enjoying the moment of approaching danger.

By nemesis, Hisoka most likely referred to Law's God Hand, which can easily cut off his Bungee Gum.

Hearing Hisoka's words and seeing the delighted expression, Law felt a chill down his spine and his body shiver uncontrollably.

He immediately threw away Hisoka's right foot with a look of disgust.
