Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Columbina

"Columbina, why are you in Inazuma? Didn't Her Majesty the Tsaritsa entrust the matter of the Electro Archon's Gnosis entirely to me?"

In a residence within the Kanjou Commission's headquarters, La Signora, the Crimson Witch of Flames, looked at Columbina, another Fatui Harbinger, who was sitting on her bed, with clear displeasure.

"La Signora, calm down," Columbina said with a faint smile. Her delicate face, partially obscured by a veil, exuded a unique charm under the flickering candlelight. Her fair, rosy skin gave off an irresistible allure, as if one couldn't help but want to hold her hand and play with it.

"Tch." La Signora scoffed but didn't say more. Although the person before her was known as the "Damselette" among the Harbingers, she was actually an ancient being who had lived for who knows how many years.

When La Signora had first become a Harbinger, Columbina had already been the Third Harbinger. Back then, La Signora had foolishly challenged Columbina due to her overconfidence in her own strength. The result, of course, was a crushing defeat.

It was from that moment that La Signora realized the top three Harbingers were in a league of their own, far beyond what the others could hope to challenge.

"I came to Inazuma for a different purpose. The matter of the Gnosis is still entirely your responsibility. I won't interfere," Columbina said, extending her small, delicate finger to gently touch the flickering candle flame.

If an ordinary person were to touch the flame, they would likely be burned instantly by the scorching fire. But Columbina was no ordinary person. As an ancient fairy who had lived for thousands of years, how could she be compared to a mere mortal?

Crack, crack, crack...

The moment Columbina's finger touched the flame, a chilling energy flowed from her fingertip, enveloping the candle flame. The once flickering flame froze as if time had stopped, encased in ice before shattering into pieces.

With the candlelight extinguished, the room was plunged into darkness, save for a sliver of moonlight filtering through the window, casting a faint glow that kept the room from becoming completely desolate.

"Well then, I'll take my leave," Columbina said, rising from the bed and walking gracefully toward the door.

"Oh, by the way," she added, her hand resting on the doorknob as if she had suddenly remembered something. She turned back to La Signora and said, "Scaramouche has also arrived in Inazuma. But from the looks of it, he's also here for the Gnosis."

After saying this, Columbina opened the door and walked out. She didn't offer any advice or instructions to La Signora. After all, La Signora was a Harbinger herself. She should know how to handle this matter and what to do next.

After parting ways with La Signora, Columbina didn't linger. Instead, she left the Kanjou Commission's residence and headed alone toward a small beach at the edge of Ritou.

"Dear unknown friend, why don't you come out and show yourself? It's quite rude to spy on a young lady from the shadows," Columbina said in a light, airy tone as she strolled along the beach. After walking a short distance, she suddenly stopped and spoke to the seemingly empty beach.

Swoosh, swoosh...

There was no response to her words, only the sound of waves lapping against the shore and the rustling of coconut leaves in the gentle breeze.

"If you don't come out now, I'll have to leave," Columbina said, taking a small step back onto her own footprints as if preparing to return to the Kanjou Commission.

However, her entire body was tense. The person following her had an incredibly strong ability to conceal themselves. Even with her unique fairy senses, she could only vaguely feel that someone was watching her. She couldn't determine their location, gender, or even the distance between them.

Clap, clap, clap...

A round of applause sounded behind Columbina. She turned slowly toward the source of the sound, and for the first time, her eyes, which had always been hidden behind her veil, opened wide.

She wanted to see who it was that had been following her, someone who had mastered the art of concealment to such an extent.

But when Columbina finally saw the person before her, her expression shifted from surprise to something more peculiar.

"I am Yun Fan. To be honest, I'm quite curious. How did you manage to detect my presence?"

Indeed, the person who had appeared was none other than Yun Fan. Earlier, while searching for La Signora at the Kanjou Commission, he had unexpectedly encountered Columbina, who had just left La Signora's room. Yun Fan was quite "appreciative" of this Harbinger, who had only appeared briefly in the "Winter Night's Lazzo" but had managed to captivate so many Travelers.

Thus, he abandoned his plan to tease La Signora and instead followed Columbina like a creepy stalker.

"To be honest," Columbina shook her head, her beautiful eyes fixed intently on Yun Fan, "I only sensed a faint feeling of being watched due to my unique nature. But if you were to truly hide from me, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to find you."

"I see," Yun Fan nodded thoughtfully. If what Columbina said was true, then it made sense. After all, his technique of concealing his presence was something even Zhongli, that old man, couldn't detect.

Different levels, different mysteries. Theoretically, anyone whose strength was a full realm below his should be unable to detect him.

"You must be the Divine Sovereign of Liyue, Yun Fan, right?" Before coming to Inazuma, the Tsaritsa had shown Columbina a projection of Yun Fan. Unlike a mere portrait, the projection was three-dimensional and lifelike, as if Yun Fan himself were standing before her.

"May I ask why you've been following a young lady like me for so long? Are you planning to do something inappropriate?" Columbina said with a light laugh, her tone a mix of teasing, mockery, and a hint of sarcasm.

"Uh..." For a moment, Yun Fan's brain short-circuited. He hadn't expected Columbina to be so sharp-tongued. A young lady? Was she referring to herself as some kind of eternal flower, ageless and immortal?

Looking at Columbina, who was likely at least as old as Lumine, Yun Fan couldn't help but think: The more beautiful and cute a girl appears, the darker her true nature must be.

Columbina's delicate cherry lips were quite sharp, but Yun Fan wasn't one to be trifled with either!

With this in mind, Yun Fan's lips curled into a smirk. His golden eyes met Columbina's, and in that moment, she sensed something unsettling in his gaze.

However, her unease was soon confirmed.

Tap, tap, tap...

Yun Fan slowly approached her, his silver-white hair swaying in the wind. His boots crunched against the sand, making a soft rustling sound. His face bore a smile that made Columbina uneasy, especially his golden eyes, which seemed to pierce through her very soul.
