Chapter 488: Chapter 498: Oppression
Looking at the two corpses lying on the ground, Sun Jack was speechless.
Before he came, he had imagined that this place might be a bit better than the Metropolis, but now it seemed it was all the same.
He even wondered if all the cities on Earth were similar to the Metropolis.
"Great, very good, extremely good!" At this moment, Old Six had already entered work mode, furiously snapping photos of the two bodies, occasionally adjusting their positions for better shots.
"We need to find a local guide, someone who can provide insights beyond what's accessible through network searches."
Sun Jack said as he looked at the unfamiliar metal city before him, but just arriving, he was a bit puzzled about where to find such a person.
He needed to know which areas were dangerous and which were safe, and learn what was unique about this city from the Previous Era, to avoid major setbacks when action was needed.
His purpose in coming here was not only to learn about this city but also to collaborate with those Wild Men who had come in advance to establish an underground station, preparing for a later invasion.
"How about we go find X? He's a local and knows us too, definitely familiar with this place. (`・ω・′)ゞ" Tapai suggested from the side.
"Are you sure? X is a high-ranking official from the Himalayas, and our purpose this time is to seize this city. Are you sure we want to go to him to learn about the Himalayas?" Sun Jack found Tapai's thinking sometimes truly abnormal.
"Why not? He doesn't know anyway, just say we're here for tourism _(:3」∠)_"
"No, that's too risky, it would startle the snake," Sun Jack dismissed the suggestion.
Just then, Sun Jack saw Old Six picking up a weapon and firing a few shots at the two bodies in the pool of blood.
Sun Jack walked over and held down Old Six's gun barrel, "What are you doing?"
Old Six pointed and said, "Bro, it's too atrocious, this guy didn't die from the fall, affecting my shooting, so I thought I'd shoot him a few times and finish him off."
"Damn, I told you to capture the oppression of the Himalayan upper levels on the lower levels, not your oppression on them!" Sun Jack pushed him away, looking at the man who smashed Han Li to death.
It was evident the man was a cyborg, with almost half of his body mechanically transformed, even half his face metallic. The unaltered half of his face was no better, covered in tattoos and tech loops, with a very rugged style.
Like X, he had metallic-luster hair on his head that occasionally sparked with electric arcs. The only difference was that X's hair was cobalt blue, while this man's was bright silver.
It was because his body was so highly metalized that he didn't die from the fall, instead crushing the person beneath him to death.
"Is he still alive?" Sun Jack pulled out a DNA modifier and injected it into the other, but the usually foolproof DNA modification technology didn't work on this body at all.
"Is it because of the high level of mechanization?" Just as Sun Jack was pulling out a data cable to plug into the other's interface for a full-body check, the other's neural interface automatically folded and retracted.
"Don't bother me, I'm pondering," the man lying in the pool of blood said.
Tapai ran over and quickly scanned around. "This guy has nothing wrong with him, he's got mechanical nanoworms all in his veins, more body defense modifications than you."
Sun Jack patted the man's shoulder, "Friend, why did you jump off the building? Are you buried in debt? Perhaps I can help you with that."
Hearing Sun Jack say that, the man suddenly opened his Artificial Eye and looked at Sun Jack. "Can you lend me money?"
"Almost, I can't lend you money, but I can kill everyone who brought you to this point," Sun Jack said.
"Yeah, right, bragging is tax-free, huh? Do you even know who put me in this situation, and you dare talk big?" The man got up from the ground, patted the blood off himself, and turned to leave.
"Why not give it a try? You were driven to jumping off a building, what else are you afraid of? What if it's true?" Sun Jack offered him a cigarette.
Seeing Sun Jack's kind gesture, the man's tone softened a bit. "The last person who talked to me like this was a con artist, I hope you're not one."
"Sun… Sun… Sun Zizhan, my name is Sun Zizhan, nice to meet you," Sun Jack extended his right hand to the man.
"San Jiao."
"Haha, that's a fucking interesting name. Is your real name actually San Jiao?" Steelheart, curious, walked over.
"My real name is hard to pronounce, I'm worried you won't remember it." San Jiao took a drag from Sun Jack's cigarette, grimaced, and threw it to the ground, then took out an electronic cigarette with added ingredients and started smoking it.
"What's your real name?" Tapai leaned in to ask.
"₍₍٩(ᐛ)۶₎₎♪" The man said his name.
"Um… never mind, let's just call you San Jiao." Sun Jack realized that each city has its own bizarre culture; this damned place even uses emojis as names.
"San Jiao, why did you just try to jump off the building?" Sun Jack continued to ask.
"Fuck! What do you think? Obviously, I couldn't go on living. Was it supposed to be for fun?" San Jiao was almost amused by the question.
"Old Six, get ready," Tapai reminded Old Six on the side.
"I'm serious, maybe we can help with your trouble. I know you have it rough," Sun Jack patiently said.
He realized that this man, who had sought death by jumping off a building, might be able to help him. And, being driven to such extremes, he might become someone worth fighting for.
The man glanced over Sun Jack and the others, and sighed. "Forget it. You can't help me. The person who's caused all this has far too much power."
Hearing this, Sun Jack frowned; he had already sentenced this man to death in his mind.
"Who is it exactly? Say it loud! He's ruined you like this, and you're too scared to even say his name?" Priest walked over, very dissatisfied with the man's attitude towards his enemy.
Hearing Priest's words, San Jiao's breathing became heavier, and his eyes filled with deep anger, "He… he… he is…"
"Good! This expression is perfect! Say it! Say it out loud! Who is it! Who has brought you to this fate! Which capitalist is oppressing you!" Old Six fanned the flames from the side.
The man suddenly clenched his fists, his expression fierce as he shouted, "He… he is… Sun Jack!!!"
For a moment, everything around went silent, and everyone instinctively looked toward Sun Jack.
Tapai, reacting the fastest, covered Old Six's camera with his hand. "Old Six, cut this part. Don't shoot."
