Dragon Ball Human

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Two Days and Farewell

Jiora didn't think such a young girl would harm him, so he casually put on the watch.

"Press that button."

Bulma, standing on tiptoe, instructed Jiora on how to operate it.

Jiora pressed one of the buttons on the watch.

Whoosh!

His expression shifted to one of surprise as his body suddenly shrank, transforming from his towering two-meter-plus frame into a more modest height, about the same size as Yamiru—just over a meter tall.

The shift in perspective caught Jiora off guard.

The little girl in front of him seemed to have "grown larger"...

Yamiru, now at his height, jogged over, kicking Jiora in the stomach. Jiora instinctively reached up to catch Yamiru's foot, only then realizing what had happened.

"I... I shrank?" He said, astonished, looking up and down at his new form.

Yamiru's kick wasn't much of a threat—he was too exhausted, and the kick had no strength behind it. Jiora let go, allowing Yamiru to retreat.

"This is the same watch that made Master Roshi get sucked into the vacuum cleaner!" Yamiru, exhausted, fell on his bottom, supporting himself with his hands on the ground. He thought, "Bulma's brain... she's really a genius, huh? Not even three years old yet! I wonder if she'll spend the next eleven or twelve years just daydreaming about stuff like this?"

"Nice invention!" Dr. Brief looked down and praised his daughter.

"This way, they can fight fairly," Bulma giggled.

Jiora stood up, stretching his body. He didn't feel any change in strength; his size was the only thing that had changed.

He began to suspect that Bulma wasn't from Earth...

At Bulma's suggestion, Jiora continued testing the watch's ability to shrink and enlarge, and his suspicions grew.

"I heard that in ancient times, this area was a common stop for many different species from various planets. Numerous alien races passed through here…" Jiora said seriously to Dr. Brief and his daughter, "Perhaps your family has genes from other planets!"

Dr. Brief didn't seem to care much.

Bulma wasn't interested either. Her focus was on mechanics, not biological origins.

"No, wait... Jiora, you'll be leaving by tomorrow at the latest, right?" Yamiru looked at the darkening sky and suddenly spoke, "Bulma, your invention is amazing, but he probably won't have much time to use it."

Bulma blinked, "Oh, really?" She didn't show any sign of disappointment. She enjoyed the process of inventing things and the satisfaction of seeing her creations put to use. Whether they were used much after that didn't matter.

However, Jiora felt a bit guilty. After hesitating, he said, "Then I'll stay for another three... two days!" He turned to Yamiru seriously and said, "In the last two days, I'll use this watch to fight you on equal terms... How much you learn from this will depend on you."

Yamiru, already exhausted and unable to hold himself up, lay back on the grass, but his expression was firm. He responded, "Mm!"

At that moment, Dr. Brief's wife walked over, calling them all to dinner.

Yamiru actually felt a bit guilty. His main purpose this time was to learn from Jiora's martial arts teaching, but now he had spent two days eating for free at Bulma's house... especially considering the lavish meals—three times a day, plus afternoon snacks... and the accommodations were incredibly comfortable. No wonder Vegeta never left—this house had everything one could want, everything seemed to be at their fingertips...

But, no matter how guilty he felt, it was time to eat and sleep.

That night, Yamiru and Jiora shared a room.

Of course, it wasn't because there were no extra rooms. Bulma's house had enough extra rooms to fill a five-star hotel... but Yamiru thought time was precious, so he didn't want to miss any chance, not even to talk before bed. He dragged Jiora to share a room, even begging him not to change back into his Earthling form. Before they went to sleep, they still occasionally exchanged insights—of course, it was mainly Jiora sharing his insights; all Yamiru could contribute were a few thoughts on his keen eyesight and some personal experiences, along with...

"Ki... the energy hidden within the body..."

Jiora sat by the window, the silver moonlight spilling into the spacious room through the large window, casting a misty, ethereal glow around him.

He was pondering Yamiru's explanation about ki, but... he really didn't find it particularly meaningful.

It felt as though something was missing in his understanding—it was difficult for him to grasp the concept Yamiru had described.

Perhaps it was because Yamiru's level was too shallow, or maybe it was like how foreigners would never fully understand various aspects of Chinese culture unless they were born and raised there. Even though Yamiru thought he had explained the concept of ki clearly—at least in his own mind—it was actually a very simple definition in Yamiru's view. The real challenge was how to draw it out from within the body.

But for an alien like Jiora, just understanding the existence of this Ki was already difficult...

"Too difficult!" Yamiru sighed inwardly, thinking, "It's just like trying to recommend Xianxia novels to a foreigner... thinking about it, Vegeta really is a genius! Freeza thought he was clever, but even after all the time he spent fighting Goku, he still didn't figure out how to sense ki... This shows that 'ki' really depends on the person!"

Suddenly, Yamiru's heart tightened, and he thought to himself: "But Frieza doesn't understand ki and still managed to reach his Golden form... Am I being too arrogant? Whether or not someone understands ki may not be a necessary condition to become strong... It seems like, as a practitioner of ki from Earth, I've quietly developed some sense of arrogance... This won't do!"

Lying in the large bed, Yamiru activated his keen eyesight. The silver moonlight made his golden eyes shine even brighter.

Jiora, sitting on the windowsill, glanced at Yamiru, who was lost in thought.

"I get the feeling... this person is constantly self-flagellating, trying to improve... like someone is chasing him... How strange!"

It was unclear how much time passed, but eventually, in the dim room, Yamiru's golden eyes slowly closed, and he fell into a peaceful sleep.

Jiora didn't sleep. His home planet's rotation period was different from Earth's, so his sleep schedule naturally didn't align with Earthlings. At this moment, he wasn't tired at all.

He quietly gazed at the bright moon outside the window, and before he knew it, the night had passed.

At 4:55 AM, Yamiru's eyes opened on the dot. A flash of gold passed through his eyes, and he was instantly wide awake. He jumped up immediately.

"Your recovery speed is impressive!" Jiora jumped down from the windowsill.

After just taking a hot shower and sleeping through the night, all the exhaustion Yamiru had yesterday was gone. He had long since grown accustomed to this, attributing it to the wonders of the Dragon Ball world or perhaps the mutations he'd undergone after crossing over.

It was the third day at Bulma's house.

In the large backyard, the sound of physical collisions continued, while Bulma, sitting in her little vehicle, casually drove around, occasionally passing by the two "kids" fighting.

After putting on Bulma's transformation watch, Jiora and Yamiru would transform into similar body sizes, making it look like two ten-year-olds were fighting.

However, these two "children" were capable of knocking down most of West City's normal Earthlings with their punches and kicks...

"Where are you looking?" Jiora threw a punch at Yamiru's eye. "Can't you see such a punch coming?"

Yamiru covered his eye, wincing in pain as he stepped back. He gritted his teeth but didn't make a sound.

Bulma stopped the car, squatting on the grass as she patted the little vehicle, pinching its wheels. She tapped her chin, deep in thought again...

That night, Jiora had already placed all the gold sent by Dr. Brief into the fuel core of his spacecraft. As for the empty capsule that had carried the ship, he turned it back into his Earthling form and put it back into Chapat pocket—after all, he was an enforcer and wouldn't pocket someone else's belongings.

Yamiru, once again sore and exhausted, took a hot shower before lying down on the bed to organize and summarize the day's lessons, gradually drifting off to sleep...

The third day.

"This is my last day on Earth," Jiora reminded Yamiru.

Yamiru didn't respond, instead throwing a punch.

"Good, your punching technique has improved a lot since the first day." Jiora chuckled, dodging Yamiru's punch with a twist of his smaller form. "But there's still room for improvement."

The two sparred intermittently, pausing to communicate through conversation. It was usually Yamiru asking questions, and Jiora answering. Before long, it was noon.

At lunch, Yamiru suddenly asked, "By the way, how many days off did you take?"

Jiora paused, somewhat confused, and turned to look at Dr. Brief, who was sipping tea at the table.

"Don't worry," Dr. Brief replied leisurely, "I've already had the company notify the Slope City police station... These few days off won't be a problem."

Yamiru and Jiora exchanged a glance before continuing to eat.

Bulma didn't eat dessert, instead mumbling something with her father, occasionally gesturing with her small white arm.

Yamiru, focused on his food, could still vaguely hear words like "anti-gravity" and "mass production" in their conversation... He had the strange feeling that it had something to do with a matter he had been concerned about for a while.

After the meal, Yamiru and Jiora continued their sparring.

Dr. Brief and Bulma watched for a few minutes before leaving. Bulma drove her little vehicle while Dr. Brief walked beside her, cigarette in hand, the two of them chatting as if the professor was guiding a young doctoral student...

"Splash!"

Yamiru was sent flying and landed in the small creek.

Having taken the last punch of the day, it was time for goodbyes.

When he climbed out of the water, Jiora was already nowhere to be seen. Yamiru, drenched, stood in the water for a moment before suddenly hearing a faint buzzing sound. He turned around to see Jiora's spacecraft rising into the air from the yard. As the sky darkened, both the spacecraft and Jiora's figure appeared blurred... Yamiru activated his keen eyesight, but he could only vaguely make out Jiora's shadow giving him a thumbs-up before the spacecraft shot off, disappearing, leaving behind a fading afterimage in Yamiru's vision.

"Aren't you going to stay for dinner?" Dr. Brief strolled over, watching Jiora depart. "He should've taken some Earth specialties with him…"

Yamiru stood dumbfounded, and then his face changed. He shouted, "Damn! He left like that! Who's going to take me back to Slope City?!"

In the bushes of the yard, the officer Chapat woke up groggily, looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings. He rubbed his head, muttering, "Where am I…?"
