Douluo: My power increases in Two levels

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Pink-Haired Girl

The next day, Han Feng set out on his journey. Although Zhang Lingling was reluctant to let him go, she understood that as a man, he would have to venture out someday. She accompanied him for a short distance before returning home. Han Dang was even more straightforward—Han Feng hadn't seen him at all since the previous night!

The thought of meeting the legendary main characters made Han Feng so excited he could barely contain himself. Back when he read the novel, he used to imagine himself as part of the story. And now? His childhood dream was coming true!

Two years ago, Han Feng had already found an excuse to visit Nuoding City. He was the same age as Tang San—actually, a few months younger—so he wasn't worried about missing the plotlines he was familiar with.

Of course, Han Feng wasn't stupid enough to try and deliberately befriend Tang San.

Tang San was a reincarnated powerhouse with lifetimes of experience in social navigation. Honestly, if Han Feng had approached him back then, Tang San would've definitely become suspicious.

"I wonder if I'll ever have a shot at becoming a god? "

"Maybe the God of Fire? Or the God of Defense? I remember reading somewhere that the Fire God is a first-class deity and that Ma Hongjun was supposed to inherit it... But I think he failed. I probably won't make it either... The God of Defense... Meh, does that even exist? "

"Maybe Ice God wouldn't be bad? "

"If nothing works, I'll just get in good with Tang San and see if he can take me up to the divine realm with him! "

Han Feng didn't care whether his dreams were realistic. He kept imagining a glorious future, completely unaware of the strange looks he was attracting along the way.

Truth be told, Han Feng looked more like Zhang Lingling than Han Dang. But his big, bright eyes gave him a lively charm rather than a feminine one. His features were handsome and radiant, and thanks to his cultivation, his short, tousled hair had a faint reddish haze to it, giving him a slightly mysterious, otherworldly vibe. Zhang Lingling was right—if Han Feng could act even a little more serious, he'd have no trouble stealing the hearts of countless young girls.

Unfortunately, "serious" was a concept Han Feng had never really understood.

As he walked, many young women and even a few married ones cast him regretful glances.

—What a good-looking young man! Such a pity he's... not all there.

Of course, there were also a few who thought, who cares if he's a little slow? With that face, it's fine!

But Han Feng would never know what was going through their minds.

And so, under countless complex stares, Han Feng passed through one city after another.

To save time, Han Feng used his soul power. That meant even if people were annoyed by his goofy smile, no one with half a brain dared mess with him.

He'd left early in the morning, and by evening, he could already see the silhouette of Soto City in the distance. Sure, a carriage would've been faster, but as someone from modern times, Han Feng had strong opinions: carriages were murder on the butt. He'd ridden one once when he was seven or eight and swore never again—even if it meant dying on the road, he'd walk!

In any case, admissions weren't until tomorrow. Han Feng wasn't in a rush. Though he traveled light, he carried two sole tools.

One was a ring gifted by Qian Renxue, which he wore around his neck to store valuables. The other was a bracelet on his wrist for everyday items—a gift from Han Dang, who reluctantly paid for it out of his private stash under pressure from Zhang Lingling.

As the saying goes, a mother worries when her child travels a thousand miles. Zhang Lingling had stuffed a good half of their household belongings into those two soul tools.

Upon reaching the outskirts of Soto City, Han Feng quickened his pace. He didn't want to sleep outdoors.

"Hey, girly! If you know what's good for you, hand over anything valuable. Maybe then we'll let you go. Otherwise…"

The moment Han Feng heard that voice, he rolled his eyes. I can't believe I'm actually walking into one of those scenes!

He stood on a slope and looked down to see three burly thugs surrounding a girl in a yellow dress with pink hair. The contrast between their hulking frames and her slender figure made the scene look even more lopsided. All three men were holding blades that glinted coldly in the fading light.

Han Feng couldn't help but scoff.

A beauty like that right in front of you, and all you want is money? What kind of amateur bandits are you!?

Unless… maybe this girl's a hidden monster in disguise who could take down an army head-on?

Entertaining himself with wild plotlines, Han Feng had no intention of helping.

He could tell the bandits had no soul power—they were just ordinary thugs. But the girl? She had noticeable soul energy. There's no need for him to intervene.

Even a support-type soul master, with enough soul power, could easily overpower commoners.

With that in mind, Han Feng turned to leave—he didn't want to get delayed; the city was still a ways off.

"Big brother, help me!"

Suddenly, the pink-haired girl turned and cried out in a voice so sweet and sorrowful, it sounded like a nightingale's song.

The three thugs flinched at her cry. Their fleshy faces trembled in panic as they looked in the direction she was facing—and spotted Han Feng just as he was about to leap away.

From his elevated position, with his calm demeanor, Han Feng did look a bit like a heroic figure from a story.

Apparently, the thugs were well-read. Seeing his posture and presence, they panicked, guessing Han Feng was probably a soul master.

"State your name!" barked one of them. "We're the Soto Three Scourges! We're not afraid of you!"

Han Feng sighed.

Should've activated my concealment shield before leaving... Way too careless.

He was shocked the pink-haired girl had even noticed him—her soul power was clearly weaker than his, yet she sensed his presence without him releasing any aura.

And she was even younger than he expected—no more than thirteen, with short pink hair, delicate features, and a graceful elegance that set her apart. Even having seen someone like Qian Renxue, Han Feng had to admit: this girl was just as stunning, if not more so—just with a different aura.

But right now, the girl wore a sly and triumphant look that made Han Feng a little annoyed.

She had clearly just used him.

"Hey, kid! Our boss asked you a question!"

One of the thugs mustered his courage and barked at him, clearly uneasy.

Han Feng shrugged, still annoyed by the girl's trickery, and replied casually, "I'm just a passing Kamen Rider. I'm not her brother, and I don't care to meddle. Do what you want—just leave me out of it."

The moment the words left his mouth, the girl stared at him in disbelief, her big eyes full of confusion and accusation. Has anyone ever talked to her like that before?

If they were in her family's territory, those words alone would've been enough to sentence Han Feng to death!

Han Feng was telling the truth, but the three thugs didn't buy it.

"You think we're idiots?!"

The lead thug's eyes gleamed. He raised his blade and lunged at the girl, hoping to use her life to threaten Han Feng. His reasoning was simple: kill the girl before Han Feng could react.

Han Feng hadn't planned to interfere—but then he noticed something that made his expression change.

The pink-haired girl didn't move.

She just stared at him, eyes full of shock and fury, not even noticing the blade about to fall on her!

Han Feng was stunned and furious.

How did someone like that cultivate to this level!?

Still, he couldn't just let her die.

With a flash of red light, Han Feng activated his second soul ring. Flames engulfed his body as the Shield of Seraphim appeared in front of him, blocking the strike just in time.

A deep voice rang out:

"Robbery is fine. But don't hurt people, alright?"

Somewhere in the shadows, two hidden figures exhaled in relief, their hearts that had nearly leapt out of their throats finally settling down again…
