Douluo Dalu: Three-Headed Dragon King

Chapter 195: Brother, You Smell So Good

"Flame Charge!"

A flash of red light burst in Ma Hongjun's eyes. In the next moment, wrapped in black-red flames, he swept past the first fallen soul master. The murky fire surged, and the soul master was instantly reduced to ashes, vanishing without a trace in the Hell Slaughter Arena.

As the crackling fire gradually receded, Ma Hongjun's not-so-tall figure emerged. "Not willing to strike, trying to wait for Fat Lord to show a flaw? Now, you've lost your chance."

Over the past two years, Tang San had defeated countless enemies and had once come across a thousand-year-old fire-type soul bone. Due to incompatible attributes and the soul bone's damaged state, he had passed it to his follower, Ma Hongjun. With the aid of two soul bones, Ma Hongjun was able to achieve a hundred consecutive victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena.

Moments later, the flames faded. Of the ten people who had entered the arena, only Ma Hongjun remained, along with charred scorch marks on the stone floor.

Even though Ma Hongjun was the most useless among the Shrek Seven Devils, after surviving one hundred life-or-death battles, the aura of greed and bloodlust surrounding him had become terrifying. A nearly tangible murderous pressure burst forth, and the vast Hell Slaughter Arena fell into complete silence.

"Evil Fire Phoenix, congratulations on achieving a hundred consecutive wins in the Hell Slaughter Arena." A cold female voice shattered the silence in the stands.

A tall woman draped in a black-and-red cloak appeared high in the sky. Though her face was hidden beneath a hood, Ma Hongjun's many years of woman-chasing experience told him this was undoubtedly a stunning beauty.

As this woman appeared, several large gates around the arena opened simultaneously. Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Tang Shan stepped out one after another. Though their strengths varied and their methods differed, under Yu Tianming's arrangement, all four had completed the hundred-win challenge on the same day.

After experiencing countless killings, Tang Shan, Ma Hongjun, Xie Yue, and Hu Liena all had eyes tinged with crimson. Their auras surged violently with their overwhelming killing intent. This effect was even more pronounced on Tang Shan, who possessed the Wrathful Blue Silver Berserk Transformation Skull, and on Ma Hongjun, who held the Greedy Murky Fire-Burning Torso Bone.

Dugu Yan, dressed as the Slaughter King, turned her gaze toward the spectator stands of the Hell Slaughter Arena. Her red lips parted slowly. "In a thousand years, only ten Death Gods have emerged from the Slaughter City. In the past century, there were only four. Yet today, in a single day, four warriors have simultaneously achieved one hundred victories."

Hearing her announcement, the audience erupted into frenzied cheers. A hundred wins—such a familiar title. Something that once took decades to witness now appeared fourfold in one day. Maybe a hundred battles weren't so out of reach. Maybe they too could become legendary Death Gods.

Scanning the ignorant fallen ones in the audience, Dugu Yan paused before speaking again. "Now, I will open the Path of Hell. If these four can survive it, they will become true Death Gods."

"Long live the Slaughter King! Long live the Slaughter King!" Roaring cheers echoed from the stands like tidal waves.

But Dugu Yan unhesitatingly unleashed a blinding light. As it spread, the eyes of every fallen soul master turned vacant, then bloodshot. Within moments, they began clawing madly at themselves, flesh tearing and blood spraying—an orgy of gore and madness.

The blood didn't stain the ground. Instead, intricate grooves unseen before now directed the blood into channels.

Witnessing this, Tang Shan's eyes twitched. The habit of the Dark Blue Silver King absorbing blood to nourish itself was deeply ingrained. Seeing so much blood, if not for Dugu Yan's presence, she would've unleashed her Blue Silver King to absorb it all dry.

When silence finally fell and all the soul masters were dead, an enormous red glow shot skyward, enveloping the four victors. In the next instant, the four were transported to the Slaughter City's core—the Path of Hell.

"Fatty, wake up. We need to move."

Tang Shan's gentle voice pulled Ma Hongjun out of his stupor. He slowly opened his eyes, glancing around. "Shan-Shan, how long did I sleep? Is this the Path of Hell? Where are Xie Yue and Hu Liena?"

Suppressing the rising fury in her heart, Tang Shan softly said, "I just woke up too. Fatty, Xie Yue and Hu Liena were likely transported to a different place. Otherwise, they wouldn't have ignored us. This Path of Hell is strange… something here is affecting my state of mind. We need to leave, quickly." With that, she began striding ahead.

"Wait up, Shan-Shan! Shouldn't we be more cautious in an unfamiliar place?" Ma Hongjun hastily got up and caught up to her.

"Fatty, stop calling me Shan-Shan." Tang Shan suddenly halted and turned around, causing Ma Hongjun to stumble. "We've left the Slaughter City. There's no need to use that false name anymore."

"Shan… San-ge, I get it…" After two years of fighting side-by-side, Ma Hongjun had begun to unconsciously treat Tang Shan as a real woman. Only now did he remember that this stunning beauty used to be his male teammate from Shrek.

A strange sense of loss rose in his chest, sharp and aching like when he parted with Cuihua.

But he forced a smile and said, "San-ge, I just got used to calling you that..."

Tang Shan said nothing, merely turned and began running faster. Her heart surged with inexplicable irritation and fury. If they didn't find the exit soon, she feared she would lose control and remain trapped in the Slaughter City's depths forever.

The two sprinted along a narrow path barely wide enough for two feet. Beyond it lay a bottomless abyss. One man and one woman—one fat, one slim—ran as fast as they could.

Time lost meaning in this eternal darkness. They felt only the growing agitation gnawing at their minds. The road's end remained out of sight.

After turning past a towering stone pillar, several grotesque bats with three heads and dark-golden skin appeared. Each measured over five meters, radiating the power of ten-thousand-year soul beasts.

As Tang Shan and Ma Hongjun approached, the sleeping bats opened crimson eyes and screamed shrilly. A swarm of small blood-colored bats exploded forth, so numerous they blotted out the duo's vision.

Meanwhile, on another section of the Path of Hell, Xie Yue and Hu Liena's minds also began to blur. But they didn't encounter the Dark Gold Three-Headed Bat Kings or the Ten-Headed Sun Serpent. They simply ran straight to the exit, eventually piercing the white barrier at the path's end.

Outside the Slaughter City, in the lush forest—

Xie Yue leaned against a tree, exhaling deeply. He turned to Hu Liena. "Nana, Tang Shan and Ma Hongjun are dangerous. They're savage even among the Slaughter City's maniacs. If we let them out, they'll cause chaos. Should we ambush and kill them while they're weak?"

"Ma Hongjun isn't much. But that demon woman… if we don't kill her instantly, we're no match for her." Hu Liena's mind flashed with Yu Tianming's image seated on the Slaughter Throne. She said coldly, "We have more important things to report to Teacher. We can't take that risk now."

A moment later, the two recovered, then vanished into the forest.

In the Douluo Continent, two evil gods once roamed the world: the God of Shura who ruled slaughter, and the God of Rakshasa who commanded corruption. The Slaughter City was their remnant domain. While the Shura God controlled pure killing power, the Rakshasa God wielded the ultimate force of wickedness. After the Rakshasa God transcended this world, she warped the Slaughter City's essence, turning it from a realm of killing into one of depravity.

Because of the Rakshasa's interference, Tang Chen lost himself while inheriting the Shura God's power. And because of this same force, Bibi Dong—who once completed the Path of Hell—gained the chance to awaken the Rakshasa God's inheritance.

Now, though Tang Shan had just slain the Dark Gold Three-Headed Bat Kings, her consciousness was fraying. As she advanced, the air grew hotter and the nearby lava-like blood awakened the fury of her Wrathful Skull. Her desire to kill grew stronger with every step.

Through her Purple Demon Eye, she vaguely saw the exit a thousand meters ahead. But her pace slowed. Rage surged through her, an overwhelming desire to kill everything around her. She knew if she didn't stop, she would lose control—and might attack Ma Hongjun.

She wasn't concerned for his life. But if she lost her mind here, she'd never escape.

The dark-red liquid on either side of the path rose within fifty meters. The heat made their clothing smolder.

Tang Shan's skin flushed pink. Beads of sweat shimmered over her exposed skin, making it look even more delicate. Her eyes were shut tight. Her body trembled. The white aura of killing intent around her fluctuated erratically.

As a plant-type soul master with low fire resistance, she hadn't consumed Blazing Apricot Delicate, so she had to use most of her soul power to resist the heat—making it harder to control herself.

With a sudden hiss, her Eight Spider Lances sprang from her back, tearing eight large holes in her clothes. Surrounded by malevolent energy, she teetered on the brink of collapse.

Seeing this, Ma Hongjun's heart sank. If Tang Shan attacked first, he'd never survive. But if he struck now while she was still dazed, he might have a sliver of hope. Yet despite having tempered himself in the Slaughter City, the image of Tang Shan's gentle smile stopped him.

As Ma Hongjun wrestled with himself, Tang Shan suddenly raised her head and struck her own chest with a palm. Blood sprayed from her mouth. But in that moment, her crimson eyes regained a hint of clarity.

"Fatty, I can't hold on. If I completely lose control, neither of us will make it out. We're not far from the exit now. Your head is clearer than mine. I'm entrusting you with my life—get me out of here."

She reversed her soul power and spat another mouthful of blood. Her body shivered violently. Without hesitation, Ma Hongjun stepped forward and caught her.

Even as the Eight Spider Lances withdrew, leaving her back and clothing in tatters, Ma Hongjun didn't spare a single lecherous thought.

Though sleazy-looking by nature, at this moment his face was solemn. Tang Shan's final words gave him a sense of divine purpose—he would not let her down.

He hoisted Tang Shan onto his back, her silky blue hair falling over his shoulder. Her altered body was so soft and pliant that every movement rubbed his senses the wrong way.

Ma Hongjun's Evil Fire Phoenix was destined to be tormented by desire. After absorbing the Greedy Flame-Burning Torso Bone and running through the Rakshasa-infested Path of Hell, even a saint would break.

After just a hundred meters, Ma Hongjun's eyes turned completely red.

"San-ge… brother, you smell so good…" He turned, eyes glued to the beauty beside his cheek, and muttered, "Shan-Shan, you're so pretty… and your body is so soft…"
