Douluo Dalu: Stealing Through The Heavens

Chapter 43: My Name Is...

Zhu Zhuyun is someone who values her life greatly; she would sacrifice anyone to save herself, even her parents or her younger sister! After a moment of hesitation and weighing the pros and cons, Zhu Zhuyun ultimately chose to retreat.

She wouldn't act rashly without understanding her opponent's details and specific strength, which is why she let the Hyena Spirit Master take the lead.

Of course, she wouldnt let it go just like that. Once she found the big man "A Biao" and the other two Spirit Masters, she would make the guy who disrupted her plans understand what cruelty really is.

Zhu Zhuqing, who had lost too much blood, could no longer withstand the weakness and fainted.

Zuzong, who has always been tender-hearted, couldn't bear to leave such a lovely little girl in the Star Dou Forest, where spirit beasts run rampant. He quickly performed some emergency first aid and carried her back to his previous hiding place.

This was a cave that was originally home to a hundred-year-old Black Bear spirit beast. After Zuzong took over the cave and its meat, it became his temporary refuge.

He gently laid the little girl down on a grass mat covered with a blanket.

He then observed the little girl: Hmm! Her face is prettier than that rabbit's, and she's wearing a black leather outfit. But she hasn't developed yet; she's flatter than that rabbit, probably because she's too young! However, she has quite a few wounds, and seeing this made Zuzong furrow his brow.

Zuzong said, "No, if this continues, her wounds might get infected, which would be dangerous. Scars are even worse! I need to treat her. Since that's the case..."

He slowly unbuttoned the little girl's first button.

Dai Mubai (wearing a green hat): "Achoo! Why does it feel like my golden hair has turned green?"

When Zhu Zhuqing opened her eyes again, it was already dark.

She noticed that her bloody black leather outfit had disappeared, replaced by a black outfit similar to Zuzong's.

Just as she was about to get up, Zhu Zhuqing felt a heart-wrenching pain.

Zuzong, who was roasting bear meat nearby (Zuzong: Don't ask where the meat came from; it's the selfless contribution of the cave's former owner), rushed over when he saw the little girl awake. He pressed her back onto the bed, saying,

"Dont move! Im not a healing-type Spirit Master; I just performed some emergency treatment. If you don't mind getting scars later, you can move as you wish."

Zhu Zhuqing raised her elegant eyebrows and recalled everything before she fainted.

It seemed she had been saved by someone.

Huh? Wait a minute, why are her clothes changed? And who bandaged her abdominal wound?

Looking at Zuzong, who wore a black mask, Zhu Zhuqing began to cry, feeling embarrassed that a strange boy had seen her naked.

Thinking of this, her face flushed red and pale alternately. She lay silently on the blanket, her whole body trembling slightly. Her long, dark eyebrows and big, wet eyes gazed at Zuzong.

Since the first assassination attempt by her sister Zhu Zhuyun a few years ago, this was the second time in her life she cried. The first was out of disappointment with her sister, and the second was because she felt her purity was lost.

Zuzong rolled his eyes, thinking, what purity? She's just a little girl under 10 years old! Besides, I only bandaged your wounds and changed your clothes; I didn't see anything inappropriate.

"Hey, little girl... uh, I mean, why are you crying? I didn't do anything to you; I just bandaged your wounds."

Zhu Zhuqing trembled and asked, "Why did you take off my clothes?"

Her voice still carried a hint of sobbing.

Damn it, this really is a mess! Should I tell you I learned from the Wu Qihua version of "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber"?—Use the Nine Yang Divine Skill to heal, and girls have to take off their clothes, while boys dont.

Clearing his throat, Zuzong replied seriously, "Ahem, well, I saved you from three men in black, and you fainted due to your injuries. I brought you here to treat you. Just to clarify, I didn't do anything; I merely bandaged your wounds."

Zhu Zhuqing still didn't trust Zuzong and pressed, "But why did you have to take off my clothes to bandage me?"

Zuzong gave her a roll of his eyes. "If I didn't take off your blood-soaked clothes, how could I bandage your abdominal wound?"

"Did you see anything, then?"

"No, I was closing my eyes while bandaging!"

"I don't believe you. (ー`ー)"

"I didn't see anything! If you don't believe me, check if your black lace vest is still there?"

Zuzong (awkwardly): Uh, it seems I let something slip.

Zhu Zhuqing (crying): My purity!

After a brief argument, the two finally stopped fighting, and Zhu Zhuqing's body was able to move somewhat.

Just then, the bear meat by the fire was done. The cave was filled with a delicious aroma.

"Gurgle." Zhu Zhuqing's stomach growled embarrassingly, and her face turned red again.

"You must be hungry! Here, this is the meat of a hundred-year-old Black Bear spirit beast; it's very nourishing for someone in your condition."

As he spoke, Zuzong offered the roasted bear meat to Zhu Zhuqing, sprinkled with many spices he had made himself.

"Gulp" Zhu Zhuqing swallowed. She clearly wanted to eat but hesitated.

Seeing this, Zuzong smiled helplessly and said, "Are you afraid I poisoned it?"

Zhu Zhuqing fell silent and nodded, which was equivalent to a tacit admission.

Well! If you dont eat, I will.

Thinking this, Zuzong took off his black mask and started enjoying the bear meat. After all, there was no one else here besides the little girl,

Zhu Zhuqing's eyes brightened. It was only now that she saw the appearance of the boy who saved her. He had fair skin, a very pretty face, and was even more beautiful than some girls. With his tall figure and long, silver-blue hair, Zhu Zhuqing's cheeks flushed, not knowing if it was from embarrassment at seeing Zuzong's looks or because she was hungry.

This handsome boy saved her; he shouldn't harm her, right? With this thought, Zhu Zhuqing abandoned her usual grace and began to devour the food.

The bear meat Zuzong roasted was indeed delicious, enhanced by his homemade "cumin."

"Cough, cough." Zhu Zhuqing, eating meat for the first time, choked a little.

Seeing this, Zuzong smiled and tossed a water pouch to her. Zhu Zhuqing caught it, opened it, and gulped down a mouthful, finally catching her breath.

"Hey, I haven't asked your name yet, little girl. How did you end up being chased?"

Zhu Zhuqing was taken aback!

She realized that neither she nor her sister had revealed their Hell Spirit Cat martial soul to him, meaning her identity was still hidden. Considering not to involve the innocent, Zhu Zhuqing decided to tell a kind lie. "My name is Zhuqing, with 'Zhu' as in candle and 'Qing' as in clear water. I don't know why those three men were chasing me. I came with my elder to hunt for a second spirit ring, but unexpectedly, they suddenly attacked. I have no idea how my elder is doing!"

"Oh!" Zuzong replied nonchalantly.

He could tell that this little girl, Zhuqing, was likely not telling the truth, as her story had many loopholes.

Earlier, he even suspected whether she was the little cat Zhu Zhuqing, with the leading woman in black being her sister Zhu Zhuyun. But seeing the size of her moon-shaped mark, he quickly dismissed that idea. What a coincidence that would be!

Anyway, once she was healed, he would send her out of the Star Dou Forest. Then, Zuzong planned to head to the Sunset Forest; he still hadn't found his third spirit ring!
