Shi Dongsheng's heart grew heavier by the minute. He understood that for this voyage of the Sunlight, casualties among the soldiers were already inevitable—unless a miracle happened. The only thing he could do now was to minimize current losses to reduce future ones. Silently, he resolved that when the third wave of attacks began, he would step down and let another commander take over, so he could go to the frontlines himself and ease the pressure on the troops.

Suddenly, the Sunlight rocked violently again, and the door to the captain's quarters burst open with a loud bang. Shi Dongsheng initially thought it was the shaking ship that forced the door open—until two unexpected figures walked in: Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen.

"Captain Shi, I know you're extremely busy, so I'll keep this short. I hope you and the rest of the crew can temporarily lower your mental defenses and accept my spiritual fluctuations. I have a domain-type soul skill called Spiritual Detection Sharing. It'll be useful—you'll understand once you see it."

Before Shi Dongsheng could even respond in surprise, he already felt a wave of spiritual energy sweeping through the room. As soon as he connected to the field Huo Yuhao had activated, his eyes widened in astonishment.

Within a radius of over two kilometers, every detail—soldier deployment, sea soul beast locations, even each soldier's physical condition—was laid out in perfect clarity.

Recovering quickly from the shock, Shi Dongsheng locked eyes with Huo Yuhao. He finally understood why this young man was a personal disciple of Jing Hongchen. A domain-type mental skill like this, once accessible to all crew members, would result in a level of battlefield coordination far beyond what any single commander could achieve.

Without hesitation, Shi Dongsheng gave Huo Yuhao a firm nod and issued what would be his final command:

"All hands, attention! Immediately relax your spiritual defenses. One of our guests aboard the Sunlight has a domain-type spiritual soul skill. By joining it, you will gain full situational awareness and targeted combat capability. Repeat: relax your spiritual defenses and accept the spiritual link. This soul skill will help you execute precision operations!"

The moment he finished speaking, Huo Yuhao expanded his Spiritual Detection Sharing field to cover the entire ship.

As each crew member connected to the domain, they were utterly awed by the godlike clarity of the information streaming in. It felt like they were sharing the same divine perspective. All five hundred-plus soldiers became a single unit. Coordination that would've been impossible before was now seamless. Every fighter had access to the knowledge of the entire group, and communication was as simple as thought.

Shi Dongsheng stepped back from command. He knew that from the moment Huo Yuhao activated his domain, human orders were no longer necessary. Just look at the red dots on the screen representing sea soul beasts—they were disappearing at a pace far faster than before.

"Thank you, little Huo. Your help isn't just like offering charcoal in the snow—it's melted the snow completely."

He turned to Huo Yuhao, his eyes full of gratitude. Now the pressure on him had lifted completely, and the invading sea soul beasts were being exterminated at peak efficiency.

"It's nothing, Captain Shi. A small effort. The field draws on everyone's shared mental strength. The burden on my own soul power and spiritual energy is light."

Huo Yuhao replied with a smile.

"This really is a divine skill. Little Huo, if you weren't already the old Hall Master's direct disciple, I'd be dragging you onto the Sunlight as an official soldier myself. This kind of skill would be off-the-charts valuable in any military."

Shi Dongsheng couldn't help but admire him. Then his expression grew serious again as he addressed both Huo Yuhao and Meng Hongchen.

"And because of that, I want the two of you to stay out of danger. The threat of sea soul beasts is still very real, and I don't want either of you getting hurt. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to face Hall Master Jing—"

He was cut off by a sudden alarm blaring in the captain's quarters. Red warning lights began flashing.

Seeing this, Shi Dongsheng's face changed dramatically. He looked at the life detection monitor and saw countless red dots approaching, along with several massive ones—at least ten of them.

"What is it?"

Huo Yuhao asked, frowning.

Shi Dongsheng swallowed hard and answered,

"The third wave of sea soul beasts has started early. Those large red dots represent ten-thousand-year-class sea soul beasts with strong soul power fluctuations. The linked soul tool shield hasn't been fully repaired yet. If those beasts arrive before it's reinforced... it'll be a disaster. Damn it, our increased efficiency in clearing the second wave must've triggered their early attack. They've abandoned their attrition strategy—they're going for a full breach now."

Huo Yuhao's face turned grave. From the screen, it was clear that many of the second-wave beasts were still pouring into the defensive shield. At the current rate, there was no way the holes could be repaired in time.

The Sunlight still had a few high-grade shock-type soul-guided cannon shells—seventh, eighth, and even ninth-level ones—that could deal with ten-thousand-year beasts. But they couldn't be used recklessly. If too many powerful beasts were killed too quickly, it might provoke the hundred-thousand-year ones—and that was something the Sunlight absolutely couldn't afford.

Meanwhile, stockpiles of mid- to low-level shells below the seventh grade had been heavily depleted during the second wave. There weren't enough left to pose a threat to the incoming third wave.

The only viable solution was to seal the gaps in the soul tool barrier—fast. But the second wave of beasts invading the shield was still too large, and clearing them out was taking too long.

Realizing this, Huo Yuhao turned and looked at Meng Hongchen. Their eyes met, and she nodded firmly without hesitation.

"Leave it to us, Captain Shi."

Shi Dongsheng froze for a moment. Leave what to them? Then he understood and quickly responded, "As your captain, I'll go out and help eliminate the intruders myself. Didn't you hear what I said? I have to ensure your safety. Even if these sea soul beasts aren't high in cultivation, their sheer numbers make them incredibly dangerous."
