Descendant of the Morning Star

Chapter 3: 03 - A Demon’s Awakening

The Titan roared, its molten eyes locked onto Noah. The ground trembled as it charged, its claws tearing through the earth like paper.

But Noah didn't flinch. He felt something awaken deep within him, a power far beyond what he had ever imagined. His mind was calm, his body alive with an energy that felt both foreign and familiar.

As the Titan's claws came crashing down, Noah raised his hand instinctively. A barrier of dark energy erupted from the ground, shimmering with a faint crimson hue. The impact sent shockwaves through the battlefield, but the barrier held firm.

The rest of the team froze, stunned by what they had just witnessed.

"Noah…?" Marcus muttered, disbelief in his voice.

Noah lowered his hand, the barrier dissipating into the air. His glowing eyes met the Titan's furious gaze. "My turn."

He surged forward with speed that surprised even himself. In a blur, he dodged the creature's massive claw and leapt onto its back. With a strength he didn't know he possessed, he plunged his combat knife into a crack in the creature's rocky hide.

The Titan roared in pain, thrashing violently to throw Noah off. But he held firm, his newfound power anchoring him.

"Marcus!" he shouted, his voice carrying an authority that made even the seasoned leader snap to attention. "Aim for the crack! Now!"

The team didn't hesitate. Following Noah's lead, they focused their attacks on the weakened area. Max, recovering from his earlier humiliation, unleashed a torrent of flames that seared the creature's exposed flesh.

In a final, desperate move, the Titan reared back, but Noah didn't let up. With a guttural cry, he drove his knife deeper, and with a surge of energy, the creature collapsed, its massive body hitting the ground with an earth-shaking thud.

Silence fell over the battlefield.

Noah stood atop the fallen Titan, his chest heaving as the dark glow faded from his eyes. He climbed down slowly, his legs trembling as the adrenaline ebbed away.

"What the hell was that?" Max asked, his voice shaky.

Noah didn't answer. He didn't have an answer.

Marcus stepped forward, his expression unreadable. "You're coming with me. Now."
