Chat Group : Another Fate From Honkai

Chapter 147: Chapter 144 — Master of Time Management

"Mei, Mei! Don't you think there's something off about those people?"

The tuna Kiana leaned in close, wrapping her arm around her best friend as she whispered softly into Mei's ear.

"…Now that you mention it, they are acting a little strange," Mei murmured, pressing a finger thoughtfully to her lips.

She tilted her head, her expression momentarily puzzled—until she remembered how she'd managed to stop this girl who is hugging her from lunging at Nagami again earlier that morning.

A soft smile tugged at her lips as she shook her head lightly.

"But I don't think it's anything to worry about."

Watching "Sirin" (The heiress Kiana) from the other world—who couldn't even form a proper sentence when talking to Nagami—Mei gave a subtle, almost imperceptible nod.

As her Herrscher personality would say]: Don't always assume the worst.

Maybe "Sirin" and Nagami just had a small argument?

…Not that Mei, with her naturally gentle nature, would ever hope for something like that to happen.

Still, something had clearly shifted.

Since last night, the heiress Kiana hadn't dared look Nagami in the eye.

She was even avoiding normal conversations with him, practically dodging both Nagami and true Kiana like a mouse startled by a cat.

Right after breakfast, she'd claimed to feel unwell and immediately asked Himeko for the day off—then bolted into her room, slammed the door shut, and even locked it from the inside.

Not even Nagami's private messages through the group chat got a response.

But the real culprit behind Kiana's bashfulness wasn't Nagami—it was the ever-scheming true Kiana.

Fueled by a petty urge for revenge, True Kiana had mentally replayed everything that happened the night before in excruciating detail, causing the heiress to practically curl up in a ball and mentally explode from embarrassment.

The reason? Simple.

Payback for the heiress barging in last night.

Given their personalities, this skirmish could be summed up as mutual destruction]: hurt your enemy by a thousand, hurt yourself by eight hundred.

Naturally, Nagami was completely unaware of the drama unfolding in the Kiana-only mini group chat.

Still riding the high from the night before, he was practically glowing.

His whole demeanor screamed refreshed, full of energy, ready to take on the world!

"By the way, I might be gone for a while. I've got something to take care of for a friend," he said, standing by the door with the girls as they got ready to head out for class.

C.C wouldn't be joining him on this trip.

The reason? The heiress Kiana was still in this world.

That meant he couldn't completely freeze time here relative to the rest of the chat group's worlds.

And after thoroughly enjoying himself with the heiress last night, disappearing without a word wouldn't exactly be... classy.

Plus, since both the heiress and true Kiana knew about his "dual-body" ability, he figured it was fine to just leave one body behind.

"Leave?" Mei's expression turned a bit anxious. "Where are you going? Will you be gone long?"

"Need Bronya's help, partner?" the ever-emotionless girl tilted her small head up at him, her iron-gray eyes focused intently.

"Nagami~ Where ya going? Take me with you!" The tuna Kiana chimed in with a syrupy-sweet voice, her face lighting up with a clearly forced smile as she clung to Nagami's arm.

Half her body was already pressed against him.

"I promise I won't cause any trouble!"

Of course, the real reason she wanted to go was simply to skip class.

"The timing's a little uncertain," Nagami replied. "But it shouldn't be too long."

With the ability to use 10 points to buy a world-travel card, he could technically return whenever he wanted.

"Don't worry, it's nothing serious. I'll be fine on my own."

He could bring someone along, but outside of Honkai Gakuen 2's world, none of the others could use the same power system.

That would make them liabilities.

"Be careful out there, okay?" True Kiana said with a gentle voice and a dazzling smile as she squeezed his pale hand.

Of course she knew exactly where Nagami was going.

'Sirin's acting weird.'

Mei narrowed her eyes slightly, Bronya also tilted her head—both girls watching true Kiana the way wives might watch their husband before a suspicious business trip.

Despite the sharp stares aimed at her, true Kiana's smile only widened.

If anything, it grew even more genuine.

When you fall for someone, you have to act boldly.

Otherwise, you'll only end up with regrets.

Otto was the perfect cautionary tale.

Having heard his story about the Saint, true Kiana had no intention of making the same mistake.

Though… to be fair, there was a world line in Honkai Impact 3rd where Otto and Kallen actually ended up together.

"Alright, I'll leave Himeko to you guys—help me cover for this," Nagami said with a shrug.

That woman wasn't as easy to fool as the other girls.

Without a proper excuse, she'd definitely block him from leaving.

In the past, Nagami might've just ignored her.

But after that whole steamy bathroom encounter, their relationship had gotten a bit… complicated.

"Tch… no good. I need to find a place to mooch some space magic."

Back in his room, Nagami packed his usual supplies into a backpack, grumbling at the inconvenience.

He used 1 point to send the backpack as a "red envelope" to Yuzuriha Inori, telling her not to open it.

Technically, the group chat's red envelope function could double as a storage system—but apparently, sending that kind of item across universes costs money!

What a scam!

After digging through the manual, the reasoning made sense.

Transferring matter between universes required subtle synchronization adjustments on both ends.

Even if the cost was minor, the only way to earn points was through daily check-ins—so it was best not to waste them.

One single point might be nothing to a lucky draw god, but it could mean life or death to someone else.

Not that it mattered to Reimu or Kiana, those two cursed with eternal bad luck.

———————————————————————

[Nagami]: @Blank, when the hell are you guys going to Disbot?!

———————————————————————

Nagami desperately needed to find Kojima so he could freeload some space magic.

———————————————————————

[Blank (Sora)]: How should I know?! Honestly, every day here feels like a year!

[Blank (Sora)]: Arghhh! Tet, you bastard, hurry up and pick me up already!

———————————————————————

Frustrated beyond belief, Sora furiously ramped up the speed of his keyboard and mouse, venting all his bottled-up irritation on the poor opponents in his game.

———————————————————————

[Lumine]: Oh stop yelling. No matter how loud you get, the so-called 'God of Games' can't hear you.

———————————————————————

Lumine got along great with White, but when it came to Blank—who happened to share a name with her brother—she always had a bone to pick.

Lying side-by-side beneath a tree with Noelle, the Traveler stole a glance at the adorable maid's delicate face.

Holding her soft, slender hand in his, the faint grumpiness in his expression melted into a radiant, flower-like smile.

Today, this man is the embodiment of shamelessness—wait, no, cuteness.

Absolute cuteness.

———————————————————————

[Shiraori]: Seriously, no matter how many times I look at it, Tet's luck is just insane!

[Shiraori]: Everyone else was out there risking their lives in a brutal war—Schwi and Riku literally gave up their lives to end it—and then Tet just waltzes in and snatches up the Star Grail?!

[Itsuka Kotori]: That's what being a luck god looks like.

———————————————————————

Tet, the first God of Games, was born from the unwavering faith and will of Riku.

He only gained access to divine essence and was able to activate it thanks to Riku and Schwi.

He was, in fact, the weakest and final Old Deus—a god born solely from the conviction of two people.

By all logic, Tet shouldn't have had much power before acquiring the Star Grail.

Nagami even suspected that, without the Grail, Tet probably couldn't even beat a Flugel in a fight.

And yet, by sheer dumb luck, he got his hands on the Grail and boom—instant god-tier power-up.

He gained the ability to erase and recreate the world at will.

Now that's what you call luck.

———————————————————————

[Hakurei Reimu]: Damn that lucky bastard of a god!

———————————————————————

The red-and-white shrine maiden screamed in outrage. If she had the Grail, she'd never have to worry about money again!

———————————————————————

[Akemi Homura]: Damn that lucky bastard of a god!

———————————————————————

If she had the Grail, things like Walpurgisnacht and Kyubey would be ancient history!

Her usual icy demeanor had long been corrupted by the group's chaotic energy.

Even Accelerator himself had wondered: If I had the Star Grail, could I obliterate beings at the level of Magic Gods?

As the conversation spiraled into a full-blown "Hunt the Luck God" campaign, Nagami wisely chose to stay silent.

Jumping in now with a smug remark would definitely get him gang-piled.

Besides, even he wouldn't dare call himself lucky in Tet's presence.

If anything, Tet ought to consider renaming himself…

"God of Games"? Please. More like God of Luck.

Opening the group marketplace, Nagami scrolled through the latest listings with a face completely devoid of emotion.

Perfect.

All garbage.

When browsing new items, it's best to adopt the mindset of opening a chest in Genshin Impact.

Nobody actually expects to pull Wolf's Gravestone, right?

Using his admin privileges, he bought a world-travel card without hesitation and began selecting his next destination.

Target: Guilty Crown.

The plan was simple.

The Void Virus would take some time to fully spread across Terra, so he might as well send the Origin Stone to that world first.

While the virus quietly does its thing, he could sneak off and enjoy a date or two in Date A Live.

Time management is everything, after all.
