Chapter 206: Chapter 205: A Beautiful World
Even though the [Shie Hassaikai] gang members had faced numerous tough battles, the lone hero took them down in a single, seemingly effortless strike, killing one of their top fighters.
In fact, this gang member's Quirk and combat abilities ranked among the best of the group.
One of the members, dressed similarly to a monk from Area 11 and wearing a medieval-style bird mask, quickly took the place of the muscular guy, pressing his hands to his forehead while shouting,
"Rampo! Damn it! I'll take the defense!"
"Don't forget the orders from Master!"
With the boost from [Fantasy Hand], a clear shield-type ability was revealed.
Aside from Accelerator, who was intently watching the battlefield from behind him, nearly two-thirds of the room was "protected" by a large, green circular shield on the side of the gang members.
After a brief daze, the boss, a treasure chest monster, commanded the other members to launch their attack.
Only the member with the [Devour] Quirk, who needed to be close to his target, stayed back. Meanwhile, both Kiyotaka and Kanemoto hurriedly drew pistols with specially made bullets and aimed them at Accelerator.
Those attacks came back even deadlier after being reflected.
The gang member with the shield-type Quirk had a special ability; those inside the protective barrier could launch ranged attacks at the outside. All the long-range attacks that were [reflected] back rained down onto the green circular shield. Although some bright flashes of Hado occurred, the shield didn't break.
I must say, the gang members worked together smoothly.
Even Accelerator found it rare to smile and comment,
"Interesting, even among trash, there are bonds of trash, huh?"
"It seems Chisaki Kai is better at winning people over than Shigaraki Tomura."
"But so what?"
"You will all die, I can guarantee that, ha ha ha ha!"
Hearing Accelerator tease Chisaki Kai like that, one of the gang members shouted back,
"Hero, shut up!"
"How could we expect you useless heroes to understand? So we'll just kill you troublesome fools!"
"Who cares what happens in the future! It's for the man who gives us value!"
Though their methods are just as extreme, compared to the League of Villains, which focuses purely on evil, Shie Hassaikai leans more toward a kind of orderly evil.
That's why their ideas are easier for those without Quirks and weaker Quirk users to accept.
Just like Chisaki Kai welcomed them in their moments of despair, these people, pushed out by superhuman society and completely beaten down, clung to their last straw of hope.
Fantasy Hand and the special Erasure bullets are the final straw that tips the scales of reason for most extremists.
These people believe that if they can achieve happiness, sacrificing the happiness of others is acceptable.
The Quirk known as Drunken Slumber was quietly activated.
Though it had no effect on Accelerator, the target was switched to the little girl behind him.
If nothing unexpected happened, she would feel dizzy and stumble toward them as if she were drunk.
Accelerator stepped back, standing protectively in front of the little girl, annoyed.
"Since you're so eager to die!"
"Then I'll be merciful and grant your wish!"
Accelerator's hand plunged into the nearby concrete wall, his arm sinking in as if it were tofu, then he threw it forward.
Having already estimated the extent of the enemy's forces upon arriving at Shie Hassaikai's hideout, he controlled the pressure so precisely that even the shockwaves were carefully calculated and unleashed.
Among the executives, the first to feel pain was the leader, followed quickly by the others, who were violently knocked to the ground.
At that moment, Treasure Chest Monster had just barely managed to control most of the concrete passageways using Fantasy Hand, but the sensation of being a living maze, able to move freely, completely vanished, replaced by the relentless pain of having his body torn apart again and again.
He couldn't fight back.
Not just against the so-called "living maze" or the intentionally erected shields; the instant their vision was stripped away, the penetrating force of destruction began to dismantle their bodies, right down to every single cell.
Accelerator didn't care what evil reason they had for targeting a little girl.
It's important to remember that many people in this world endure pain many times worse than what these individuals feel, yet still maintain at least a minimal level of kindness, choosing not to turn to evil.
That is the essential difference between people.
A person's position doesn't stain their soul.
The best example is the little girl, Eri, standing behind him.
Even when trapped in the depths of despair, she never reached out to let the "good people" willing to save her take on even the slightest risk.
A massive sound exploded.
It was as if a real dragon was turning over, and the powerful wave of energy surged upward. The shockwave alone destroyed all the visible forces of Shie Hassaikai above.
This was just a terrifying blow that drew upon all the vectors within the enemy's lair.
The ancient, grand mansion was crushed, and the heavy plaque representing the mafia's history smashed to the ground, sending tremors felt across several nearby blocks.
From high-rise buildings, one could clearly see the gray dust rising, spreading out like a volcanic eruption. The transformation wasn't over; the dust continued to linger for a while, floating gently as it hadn't all settled yet.
One could hear countless stones falling like a heavy rain within the area defined by this power.
Eri slowly opened her eyes, filled with joy as she noticed that the once-dark "pathway" was now bathed in the soft afternoon sunlight of spring. The world the girl saw felt wider and more beautiful.
This world was truly stunning.
