The two enemies frantically scanned the area before finally looking up and spotting two Narutos plummeting from the sky, each holding a kunai in hand.

They leapt aside as the two Narutos hit the ground, stabbing their kunai into the earth. The weapons erupted in violent explosions, revealing the technique to be the Shadow Clone Jutsu.

"Did you see that?" the wounded ninja shouted, while two others dressed his wounds. "Even without the God of Amegakure, we can still take him down! Konoha isn't as powerful as they think!"

"The God of Amegakure? You mean that idiot named Pain?"

Naruto's voice echoed from all directions, making his position untraceable.

"Face your end, Konoha cowards! I heard you were the strongest village among the Five Great Countries—but clearly, you're just talk!"

"You arrogant bastard—we'll make you pay for those words."

While Naruto kept the five enemies distracted with his taunts, Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru seized the opportunity. From the very beginning, they'd been lying in wait for this exact moment.

Without warning, the ground beneath the injured ninja and two other teammates caved in—Kiba had bored through the surface with Fang Passing Fang, creating a massive hole.

Kiba erupted from the ground below, roaring at the enemy and wielding two smoke bombs. "Here I am! If you've got guts, come get me!"

He hurled the smoke bombs, unleashing a thick cloud that instantly swallowed all five foes.

Neji snorted and activated his Byakugan, charging headfirst into the smokescreen.

With his Byakugan, he clearly saw the enemies inside the smoke. With swift precision, he struck three of them directly in their chakra points, instantly ending their lives.

It wasn't until then that the last two enemies realized the deadly danger lurking in the smoke.

"Get out of the smoke—fast!" one of them shouted, warning his teammate.

One of the last two Oto ninja was the one who had initially injured his knee, and now was being supported by his comrade. "We need to fall back and regroup with our reinforcements—they're already on the move!"

As they desperately tried to escape this unexpected ambush, completely unprepared for the strength of these three Konoha ninjas, a shadowy figure dropped from the tree behind them. Moving eerily midair, but by the time they noticed, it was already too late.

"Rasengan!"

Naruto Uzumaki descended from above, slamming his Rasengan into the back of one of the Oto ninja with full force. The immense impact crushed him hard into the ground.

No one could survive such an attack. Blood spurted from his wounds.

His Rasengan had completely destroyed the enemy's spine. Now, only the ninja injured from the start remained alive.

Neji and Kiba walked over to stand beside Naruto, who was now looking down at the final enemy.

Realizing he had nowhere to escape, the Tachibana Village ninja desperately pulled out a kunai and attempted to affix an explosive tag to it. However, Naruto was faster. With a single slash, he sliced through the man's wrist.

"Ahhh!" The ninja screamed in agony, clutching the stump of his bleeding wrist.

Naruto grabbed him by the collar of his tactical vest, lifting him off the ground and locking eyes with him, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You should've listened," Naruto growled. "My friend already made himself perfectly clear. Return and tell your comrades—if they want to know our location or that of any of our allies, they can come find out themselves."

Shortly afterward

The pursuing squad of over a dozen ninja had not given up chasing the invaders who had broken through the Sand Country's border defenses.

At first, no one saw the need to reinforce the borders, leaving places like the Land of Mist's border riddled with gaps.

Here, rushing rivers and rugged wastelands easily hindered the pursuers' progress.

The reason they didn't abandon their chase of the faster-moving Konoha team was because a border patrol unit had already dispatched a squad to intercept them.

That would spark a fight, giving them just enough time to close the distance.

At least, that's what they believed—until they arrived at the battlefield where the short fight had taken place.

All around were the corpses of their comrades.

Their proud team was reduced to only one survivor, slumped weakly against a tree, his missing arm wrapped in bandages soaked with fresh blood.

His head bowed low, yet the terror in his wide eyes revealed he was still alive.

Seeing this, all the Tachibana ninja rushed over, anxiously asking what had happened.

"Did they break through your defense line that easily?" One of them, the first to reach the wounded comrade, asked while inspecting his injuries. "Which direction did they run?"

"The blond kid said..." the injured ninja whispered weakly, confused. "...if I met you guys, tell you to come if you're brave enough."

He stared at them in terror before slowly unfastening his tactical vest, revealing three explosive tags strapped to his chest, clearly labeled "Explosion."

"Please... take them," he begged, trembling as he spoke, his voice barely audible.

The gathered Tachibana ninja immediately panicked, scattering in every direction to avoid the impending explosion.

BOOM!

The massive blast echoed behind them. Kiba's keen ears picked up the blast immediately—he recognized the explosion from one of Naruto's explosive tags.

He had warned that man that any attempt to touch the explosive tag, or any loud, harsh noise, would trigger the explosion prematurely.

If it were him, he'd have detonated it himself instead of trusting someone else with the decision.

From the timing of the explosion, that person clearly waited until the last second before the explosion. Maybe he also wanted to take down a few enemies with him by doing so.

"Neji said, as he sped further away from the battlefield behind them.

Now that the danger had passed, a smile appeared on Kiba Inuzuka's face. "That was too easy! If this war stays like this, we'll quickly wipe them out! Who knows, maybe I'll even become Hokage based on my amazing combat record!"

"This war won't always be this easy, Kiba," Naruto cut in bluntly.

Indeed, this fight had been very easy for them, since all three of them were battle prodigies. However, that didn't mean every battle would go this smoothly.
