Beast Enslavement: A Failure's Path to World Domination

A long aisle presented itself after Arc inserted the key. At the end of the aisle, a gate and at the beginning, a twelve year old boy. However, between the boy and the gate was a beast of terrifying power.

A tier 9 disaster class beast, The Great White Serpent.

"This is bad, what do I do?...."

He thought

"Sine and Cos might have enough firepower to level a mountain but even it won't make a scratch on it. The only beast I have who can stand up to it is Yami, but even that's a tall order"

Even among tier 9 great serpents, a white one is in a league of it's own. Yami might also be a tier 9 but in terms of actual combat power, it falls short of the White Serpent.

"Should I run? No. Ash didn't run when he faced that monstrosity and neither will I"

[Well said, fool. Now then]

[Emergency Mission: Defeat the Great White Serpent. Reward: 5000 coins, Item—Deadman's forge. Overlord Skill— Boost Penalty for Faliure: Blindness for a week]

"B-Blindness?"

[Good luck, reckless fool]

His opportunity to run had been blocked and he was forced to face the beast head on.

"Come, Yami!"

Yami materialized and Arc hopped on. The wolf leaped in the air to grab it with his sharp claws but the serpent's fluid and dynamic movements allowed it evade easily. It countered with a tailwhip sending Yami flying but the Shadowwolf landed on it's feet.

"Yami, Shadow warp"

Yami's shadow extended, covering the whole field.

Arc then summoned Buster and Sine and Cos to run interference, using Yami's shadow portal to transport Sine and Cos to blindspots while Buster tries to limit it's movements from the air with it's incredible speed.

The serpent's fluid body movements prevailed as it found enough breathing room to counter. It used a tail swipe to one-shot Buster and wrapped itself around Sine and Cos, crushing it with it's embrace. Their mastery of fire and ice did nothing to the tier 9

On Arc's command, Yami summoned black flames incinerating the area with it's howl but it did nothing to crack the serpent's sturdy skin.

"C'mon, work please!!!!"

Begging for it to feel the heat and let his Ceberus go was futile as expected. It kept on squeezing Sine and Cos until

[Alert: Sine and Cos are dead. Removed from Stables]

"N-No.....NOOOOOO!"

Arc had Yami envelope himself in black flames and charge in— if their firepower couldn't damage it, then they'll have to get up close and personal to put it down with Yami's claws.

Arc and Yami charged in watching for it's movements to anticipate it's next move— using Buster's speed to limit it's movements earlier allowed Arc to pick up on the pattern of his unpredictable movements and Yami was slowly adjusting to it's speed.

The wolf charged in but the serpent dodged and was about to counter. It unleashed it's fangs to gobble up the two of them at the same time.... however, that was the opening Arc was waiting for. Yami used his shadow to warp behind the serpent and sink his own fangs into it.

However, it jumped back instinctively at the last second. Yami sensed danger, and he was right— huge amounts of a white gas emanated from the serpent like an explosion

"P-Poison?"

They escaped most of it but a little still did manage to touch Arc.

[USED HEALING STONE]

"Hey, why did you use it on me without my permission"

[Because you were about to die, obviously. Seriously, get your head together. You already knew great serpents have deadly poison but you still charged in recklessly. Does the death of a slave bother you that much?]

"Sine and Cos weren't slaves! They were my partners, companions"

[Don't you ever get tired of spouting such crap? Sigh, what a pain!]

"The system might be a jerk but he had a point", Arc thought. He knew if he didn't focus properly, he was going to die.

"Come on.... think!"

He looked through his resources for something that might work, then he remembered the skill storage pill.

It was a pill which could store the skills of any one dead slave and anyone who eats the pill can temporarily use it's abilities. Arc mounted off Yami before setting his borrowed skill slot to shadow warp.

"Alright. Yami, use shadow clone"

Numerous Yamis made up of shadows materialized all charging at the serpent simultaneously. They were all tier 13-14 level strength but the serpent was levelling them easily.

Arc made use of shadow warp to spawn the clones at the snake's blindspots but it was still countering effectively. However, due to the placement of the clones it wasn't able to move as freely as before.

Seizing the opportunity, Yami warped below it to sink his fangs but the snake was prepared to unleash it's poison again. Arc, expecting this warped the snake into the sky, using the shadow of the just recovered buster as the connecting doorway.

He sent the eagle back to the stables the moment the snake appeared allowing it to release it's gas without harming anything

"You can't release that gas in succession, can you? If you could, you wouldn't have saved it for when we closed in before. Yami! Use blizzard!"

The one who ate the pill was Yami. While the ice couldn't have hurt the serpent while wielded by sine and cos, it's a different story when it's another disaster class.

A disaster class level blizzard was enough to slow down the serpent who was naturally weak against cold.

The serpent's moves got sluggish but that'll only last a few seconds at most—a few seconds was all they needed anyway.

"Yami! Shadowflare aura"

The Shadowwolf's ultimate skill, a mix of black shadows and flames unleashed as an explosion capable of melting entire worlds.

With the few seconds of time they bought, Yami charged up his attack, with all it's power concentrated on the great white serpent.

In addition, the cooling ice crystals rapidly expanding from the heat increased it's explosive power. It didn't matter how sturdy the serpent was, it didn't stand a chance.

However, it still had one more trick up it's sleeve. It shed it's skin, leaping out of the flames unharmed and towards Yami.

With it's fangs, it bit down on.....a clone?

As the serpent was engulfed in flames, Arc had Yami enter it's shadow and place a clone there, expecting the serpent to shed it's skin. With the opening that provided, Yami jumped out of his shadow, sinking his fangs into the serpent. It didn't have it's skin to protect it so Yami's bite penetrated easily.

Yami froze it from the inside out, finally neutralizing the serpent.

"*pant pant pant"

[EMERGENCY MISSION COMPLETE]

[I thought you weren't speaking to him, m'lady]

"Uhm, what is the deadman's forge?"

[It's an item that collects the corpses of your dead slaves. Once it's full, it will create a new beast.]

"I....see...."

Arc sat down to catch his breath. Who could blame him? He just beat a great white serpent! He took a moment of silence for Sine and Cos who gave their lives honorably in the line of duty.

"Haaaa..... alright, time to get out of here—"

As he got up, the door opened, however, he wasn't the one who opened it, it was opened from the outside.

Arc called Yami to his side prepared to fight again but was overcome with despair once the doors opened

From behind those doors came a Hydra and a giant Salamander.....both tier 7 beasts with a beast tamer on top.

The battle was over in less than a minute. Yami was battered and bruised on the ground with Arc behind him.

"What's going on here?"

Those words were spoken by Lord Silvers who had arrived at his location accompanied by Maya.

Behind him was Maya and Silvers and before him a powerful beast master and two tier 7s

Like a beast in a cage, Arc was trapped.
