Away From My Mr Wrong: Finding Love in Unexpected Ways

Chapter 12: Fake Hero

AND the person standing in front of her was none other than the guy she had spent the night with. Her eyes shrunk in.

"Hello, Miss. Long time no see." He said, smiling.

"You... You are that guy." She pointed out.

"I'm so touched that you remember me after our fun night." He said but she frowned.

"Well, I see you're pretty occupied," he used his fingers to point at the chains around her.

"...at the moment. But..." He raised his gaze and peered into hers. "...that's not gonna stop me from taking you away from here. So, choose. Either you take off that thing around you by yourself or I'll get my men to do it. And once I do that, I'm gonna carry you out of here. The choice is yours."

Charlotte was completely lost.

What did he say? Have his men do what?

Wait, first off, who was he and why did he think he could just say something and his bidding would be done?

"Are you still thinking of what to choose?" He asked and she blinked. "Then, don't mind me. I'll just do what I see fit. It's not good for a pretty lady to be around 'dangerous' things." He smiled and snapped his fingers.

His men came forward and broke the chains in an instant.

Something the others did not think of doing.

Cross watched this and wondered why Wesley was taking charge by himself.

They were on camera now, so maybe he was just trying to boost his reputation as the guy who saved a girl from being torn down at a demolition sight.

But what he did next shocked Cross.

Wesley took Charlotte's hand and suddenly flung her over his shoulder.

"You... What are you doing?" She asked, struggling.

"Stay still. You've been a bad girl." He said but she was adamant.

What in the world did he think he was doing? She wouldn't stay still and let him do whatever he wanted.

She wouldn't...

Then, he smacked her butt, shocking everyone, including herself.

"I told you to stay still." He said. "You have yourself to blame."

Charlotte's face went red in shame. Did he... Did he just slap her butt?

How... How dare he?

But she was so scared of it repeating itself that she no longer struggled.

Wesley smirked and exclaimed,

"Works every time."

He takes her to this car parked at a distance, Cross followed them with his mouth in a twist. At this point all Charlotte wanted was to leave this place, with our a second thought, she get into the car, Wesley joins her in. The other guy jogging behind them sat at the passenger seat next to the driver.

The driver sped off, leaving the scene behind. Wesley's gaze locked onto Charlotte's averted face during the silent drive to his condo.

As they arrived, Charlotte's eyes widened at the penthouse's grandeur. She'd only seen places like this on TV. He held her hands as he led her.

"Come with me," Wesley said, breaking the silence.

Charlotte followed, her head down. Wesley led her through the main entrance, where two maids pruned trees. They exchanged stunned glances.

"Good morning, sir," they chimed.

Wesley ignored them, shutting the door.

The older maid whispered, "Who do you think she is?"

"Maybe a new staff member?" the younger maid replied, eyeing Charlotte's apron. "But she's too pretty for that."

Their gossip faded as Wesley stepped out, leaving with his entourage.

He'd led her to what seemed like the master bedroom at the top floor. She sat reflecting back on what had just happened. She had just followed the last person she would ever meet again in her miserable life in the most awkward manner and how she followed him to his house. Very far from town. She just had to leave that crazy scene. Maybe she was just been stupid.
