Chapter 6: Chapter- 6 : Teaching The Villainess
Meanwhile the main team has almost finished off all the phantom bats. But suddenly we heard a weird sound from the gate ahead.
I activated 'Vision' to see it properly and I saw a huge group of phantom bats, twice as many as before behind the gate.
They fly out in a flock towards us.
All the magic users cast their spells while the knights swung their swords. Elena and I were already near the main team as we were fighting the bats before.
The two knights from before walked up to us to provide cover as we also cast the magic spells.
The situation seems to be under control just when I noticed with my 'Vision' a dark purple figure heading in our direction at tremendous speed.
Its speed was too fast for a phantom bat, I couldn't see its proper appearance even with the 'Vision'.
But I could tell its aim is Elena as it reached her in an instant.
I instinctively held Elena's arm and jumped back while using 'Gale' to increase the speed and went directly beside my father.
We barely dodged it by a hair's breadth. Elena looked at the purple thing in shock.
"Elena!"
Marquis Mizo quickly came and held the shocked Elena. Honestly that 'thing' was giving weird vibes like an 'intent' which gave even me a creepy feeling.
Marquis Mizo looked at that 'thing', it is still flying at superfast speed.
Marquis Mizo held his staff up as magic was cast in an instant.
Terrifying cold air was released from his staff covering the 'thing' and all the bats near it and stabbed them with a huge number of icicles.
It was overkill as around a dozen phantom bats and that purple 'thing' died on the spot and their bodies are falling down.
"What kind of bat is that?"
When I again took a proper look at its dead body, I can see it's also a bat but much different than a phantom bat, it has purple veins all over its body and it has two pairs of sharp wings and sharp claws at the end of the upper wings.
"Unknown species, maybe mutated"
Unexpectedly my father gave me the answer.
Even father has never seen this monster?
Then it is probably related to the game, I just don't know how.
With the rapid magic attack the main team quickly deals with the bats.
But now it looks like a massacre with around hundred dead phantom bats laying around.
If they had escaped outside then it could have caused chaos in the town.
"Lord Gael, I request you to take the kids back to the mansion"
"Father wait, please let us continue!"
I tried to pursue my father but he firmly refused and we had to go back to the mansion with Marquis Mizo.
After that the exploration continued for several days but I didn't get the chance to join.
But honestly this dungeon seems really big as the team brings new monster corpses everyday.
Meanwhile when we got back to the mansion, Elena came to me to say thanks for saving her.
I thought that it would be alright after that but she came to me the next day again with a request.
"So you want to learn the gliding technique using 'Gale'?"
Apparently she wanted to do what I did with 'Gale'. Like flying and gliding on wind, this technique is actually the first part of the 'Wind Dance'.
All four basic attributes have their own 'Dance' which specializes in a certain field.
'Wind Dance' specializes in movement and evasion techniques.
I don't know how to reply to her request.
We are staying in the same mansion so I can't possibly ignore her, and rejecting her can cause me more trouble.
So in the end I agreed.
It's not like it was some exclusive technique, anyone with decent affinity with the wind element can learn it but what matters is how proficient you are with it.
We decided to practice in the ground where we had the spar. Never thought I would be teaching someone magic this soon, and the villainess at that.
So Elena, Allia and I gathered in the ground.
Well Allia is just gonna watch us so we don't cause any trouble. She is not as motivated as Elena when it comes to magic.
"Alright, then the most important thing in this technique is to reduce the output of the magic, if the magic is too strong it will send you out of control"
I started with explaining to her the basic concepts of 'Wind Dance', because it's dangerous to start the practice right away. Controlling the magic power is the most important.
I show by using it on me, I perfectly balanced 'Gale' below me and it lifted me above the ground, I made a sitting position in the air because it makes it easier to ride over the wind.
Making a hurricane which is short in height but wide in diameter can help glide on low altitude. I can't yet fly on too high of altitude but I think I'll be able to in a few years.
"Should I try?"
Elena asked me while holding her staff in a ready position.
"Wait! Not on yourself yet, first try lifting other things, for example that empty barrel"
I told her as I brought the barrel that was laying on side by using wind magic.
"Okay! So first I need to put minimum mana in the spell, right?"
Elena cast the spell while saying that but it didn't work on the first try. So she again cast the spell and this time it made the barrel roll.
[Author: I don't need to mention what's mana, right?]
"Little more mana"
When I said that and she again cast the spell, the barrel flown away uncontrollably.
I quickly cast a hurricane to control it before it damaged something.
Glad I was monitoring her using 'Wind Vision' as it is easier to detect wind movement using it.
"S-sorry"
Elena apologized but it doesn't look like she is dejected at all, instead there is a firm conviction in her eyes.
Are you really the villainess of an Otome Game? More like a War Lord of RPG.
So we continued until her mana was completely exhausted.
And this became our daily routine.
As soon as we finishes our morning breakfast she comes to ask for my guidance.
Of course I wasn't doing it selflessly. It also serves as a good practice for me and I am also able to understand her full potential.
It may be useful in the future.
Don't forget I am the heir of a Marquis family, I also need to maintain some reputation.
In an unlikely hood she doesn't fall on the evil path then she can become a strong ally.
