Ancestral Wealth Inheritance System

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Enemies on a Narrow Road

"Huh? Is it morning already?" Fang Jueyu groggily woke from his sleep and checked the time—it was already past ten in the morning.

He freshened up a bit and then had to consider a very serious issue—what should he eat for lunch today?

Having experienced last night's midnight snack, Fang Jueyu already knew the style of this group of chefs; no matter what he said he wanted to eat, they would definitely bring something astonishing.

"Uncle Wu, I'll handle lunch myself today; you guys don't need to fuss!" Fang Jueyu instructed, referring to Uncle Wu, the head chef, "If I want to eat something in the future, I'll let you know in advance."

"Okay, just tell me whatever you want to eat."

"Oh no! I accidentally slept in and forgot all about the important stuff!" Fang Jueyu just then remembered that he had added Xinyu on WeChat last night, and he wasn't sure if his friend request had been accepted.

He hurriedly took out his phone, and indeed, the friend verification had been approved but the chat was blank, and Xinyu hadn't initiated any message to him.

"Sorry, I just moved yesterday and fell asleep listening to your singing, didn't even greet you," Fang Jueyu hurriedly sent a message.

"Hahaha, don't worry, I know people like you, the tycoons, are very busy." It wasn't long before he received a reply from Xinyu, followed by a very cute emoji.

"By the way Mr. Tycoon, where did you move to?"

"I moved to Jiangnan City. Since the school is here, I plan to settle down here."

"School? Are you still a student?" Xinyu sent an emoji with a black question mark, "I thought you were some middle-aged man in his forties or fifties!"

"Haha, I'm only 20. I just finished summer and am starting my senior year at Jiangnan University!"

"What a coincidence? I'm also going to university in Jiangnan City! But I'm at Jiangnan Music College, certainly not as scholarly as you!"

Actually, Guo Xinyu was being modest. Jiangnan University was ranked third among comprehensive universities nationwide, and her Jiangnan Music College was only second to the Central Music Academy and Modu Music College.

"People are still guessing who you are. Some think you are a rich and uneducated second-generation heir, others think you are a big corporate boss. It turns out you are also a student."

"That's just everyone guessing wildly!" Fang Jueyu rolled his eyes. Why does a rich second-generation have to be uneducated? He was, after all, an outstanding university student excelling in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic qualities.

"However, Mr. Tycoon, your family must be in business, right?" Guo Xinyu guessed he must be a young master from some major family, otherwise, he wouldn't be spending millions on a livestreaming platform, which was almost considered an entertainment hobby.

"Yeah, sort of. Oh, by the way, Xinyu, stop calling me a tycoon. My name is Fang Jueyu, just call me by my name from now on!"

"Okay, then you shouldn't call me Xinyu either. My name is Guo Xinyu, thanks for your help. Honestly, my family really needed that money; it was like getting help in the nick of time," Guo Xinyu sincerely said, "I'll definitely treat you to a meal sometime, just don't mind if the place isn't fancy."

"Hahaha, I definitely won't. If you choose somewhere too expensive, I might not even feel comfortable," Fang Jueyu replied, "You might not believe it, but I also just found out the day before yesterday that I was this wealthy."

Guo Xinyu sent a mischievous emoji, clearly not believing Fang Jueyu's words, "Don't tell me it's like what they say online, your parents suddenly told you that they are actually billionaires?"

But what Guo Xinyu couldn't imagine was that the meme she casually mentioned actually happened to Fang Jueyu, and his parents were not just billionaires, but had even disappeared to who-knows-where in the universe.

The two had only just formally met and didn't have much to chat about, so after exchanging a few pleasantries, they said goodbye.

Today, Fang Jueyu had an important task. Zhuang Ying had sent him a message saying that he needed to get some decent clothes since all his current belongings combined were hardly worth a thousand yuan.

Originally, Fang Jueyu thought about finding a mall to buy a decent outfit, but Zhuang Ying told him he owned a private factory that tailored clothes specifically for Fang Jueyu and those serving him. Someone would come to measure him in the afternoon.

"Let's go out to eat first!" Fang Jueyu casually put on some shorts and a T-shirt, grabbed his keys, and left the house. There were many nice restaurants near the school. Some places were quite expensive, and he usually hesitated to go there, but now there was no reason to hold back.

Driving out of the neighborhood and crossing a big street, he quickly arrived at his school gate. School had been out for several days, and apart from the unfortunate graduate students, there weren't many people left, making the usually bustling entrance look rather deserted.

Fortunately, with fewer people, Fang Jueyu quickly found a parking spot. Just as he got out of his car, a familiar voice called out to him.

"Old Fang!" A slightly chubby boy caught up with him; it was his roommate, Cheng Kai. "Holy shit, it really is you! You seem taller? And somewhat different? Did you get plastic surgery these past few days? I barely recognized you!"

"Fuck off, man. Don't you know I'm still growing?" Fang Jueyu knew his appearance had changed somewhat and joked around, "Huh? Why haven't you gone home yet?"

"Ah, my family wants me to apply for graduate school. If I were at home, I wouldn't concentrate on studying. It's more efficient to stay in the library here," Cheng Kai explained. "What about you? I thought you went home. Why are you back?"

"Ah... I moved recently to Jiangnan City." Fang Jueyu didn't know how to explain.

"Wow, keeping it low-key, huh? Housing prices in Jiangnan City have tripled over the past few years. Your family can still afford a house here? Impressive!" Cheng Kai said enviously. Near Jiangnan University, the average housing price had risen above sixty thousand, and buying an ordinary house would cost a lifetime of effort for most people.

"Hahaha, let me tell you, my dad told me a few days ago that I'm actually a rich second generation!" Fang Jueyu blurted out teasingly.

"Okay, I believe you. I'm tired of studying anyway, you're treating today's lunch!"

"How about Bartolo?"

"Holy shit! Are you serious?" Bartolo, fully known as Bartolo Spanish Art Restaurant, wasn't especially high-end, but its average consumption was over 300 per person. To get a decent meal, it would cost at least 500 per person, which was pretty extravagant for students.

"Cut the crap, for our three years as roommates, I ought to treat you to a good place, even if I have to sell my blood or whatever!" Fang Jueyu joked.

"Damn, has this kid's family really struck it rich?" Cheng Kai followed him, completely confused. But knowing Fang Jueyu, he wasn't the type to pretend to be richer than he was. Maybe Fang Jueyu had recently made some money from playing the stock market.

Coincidentally, as they approached the restaurant, two people walked towards them, one of whom was his ex-girlfriend, Jiang Yuan, and naturally, the man she was arm-in-arm with was her new boyfriend, Wang Xuan.

"Hahaha," Fang Jueyu hadn't reacted yet, but Cheng Kai had already started sneering, "Talk about a narrow road for enemies!"
